Quite true, but you know what, I've believed that for a long long time. I don't think you can debate those 2 qualities. Too many personal stories.

My opinion might be biased, but it's an accurate bias.

So he hurt your feelings and now he's an ego maniac and greedy. It's so simple! I'm sure your personal stories and every thing else you heard from Chad can encompass Ed's personality the shit he has to deal with.

You might even be right about Ed, but I doubt you'd know for sure.

Yes but Lightning Crashing is really the song that made LIVE. Selling the Drama and I Alone were good singles, but LC took LIVE to another level.

What question are you referring to? All I said is that Ed's legacy with LIVE is safe.

Sales figures again? So Ed's legacy is based on record sales?

LIVE's legacy is somewhat based on sales, otherwise would they promote that they sold over 20 million albums worldwide.

Do you deny that LIVE's lasting legacy is Throwing Copper?

Who the fuck are you? He didn't hurt my feelings..........fuck sake man. Why do you stick up for him so much? It's like you're holding on to some semblance of 1995 and Ed is the King. He's the one who owes the true fans a honest vetting of himself....but we wont get that, he's insulated in his own self fulfilling prophecy. And I mean no ill will towards him. He's chose his path, and I am fine with him leaving for 'not so greener pastures'.

You think his touring today is what is bring home the bacon?? Nope.

Ed will always have a legacy of 4 great albums in the Live community. It has nothing to do with sales, it's all about the music.

And Nick, you know damn well album sales today will never match what they were in the 70's, 80's, and 90's. It's a completely different game today.

I'll tell you my story. I've met all the band members a few times. I've met Ed twice and both times he was nice and held up a conversation.

My feelings aren't hurt, but it's obvious what he did.

Yes, I do, their legacy is built on sustained success, which they had, for 10 years in increasing degrees of popularity.....yes TC was the height of popularity sales wise, but, I think they had more fans who were dedicated long after TC tour was completed. You see, this is about music. To me, it's all about the music. Most music fans would agree......the so called opportunists see it differently.

I agree that the I alone, std, LC are the lone staples that the corporate whore mongers at US radio choose to play. Heard LC this morning might I add. Legacy to the fans is not about the record sales, it's the music. A band's legacy can certainly be thought of in both lights.......the business side and the art side............they do go hand in hand but who buys the records, who goes to the shows? The fans.....why? major majority because of the art, not becasue of Neilsen Soundscan.

Oh seriously fuck off. Sales again. It's all that matters isn't it, how Ed is viewed. Like i said before the fact you're so angry is that CCP made negative comments about Ed in public and that may hurt Eds public image. How Ed is seen by the masses and that he's popular is all you care about. You dont give a shit that Hulk Hogan is by all accounts a terrible pro wrestler, you care that he's the most popular. You like to be on "the winning team".
Seriously good luck with that, the way you view one of my favorite bands of all time and then call yourself a fan makes me sick. The majority of us 10 times over will never forget Ed's legacy because we are fans of Live, we listen to the music, we discuss the music, we love the music. You right here all but stated it's about how it's viewed. The nicest thing you could say about CCP was that they had "great onstage chemistry with Ed". A visual aspect.
Your obsession with holding CCP and KM accountable for every little comment made about their plans and not being able to understand that plans change is beyond me. You're a weird and disturbed person.

Once again, go away, you're not a fan of Live. If you just want Ed then go suckle at his teat on Facebook. This place has nothing to offer you and you certainly have nothing to offer.

I'm not sticking up for him so much as I am shutting you up. You and others are boneheads who hold Ed to 1995 standards, not me. You know that I'm someone who does not believe that Ed's potential was squandered. He can't rock now, and that is how it should be at his age. Nor am I dumb enough to believe that he made devious decisions just because some fans don't like his new direction, or that this unresolved lawsuit means that Ed isn't privy to, or doesn't deserve, certain compensation. Even if he was an asshole to the core, his music which spread to millions, is a blast of positive energy that will long outlive his personality. Ed deserves to be wealthy and famous till the day he dies for his fucking incredible contribution to rock. And as far as him being a nice guy, you probably don't know him at all. So what if he doesn't want to talk to an obsessed fan. If I was his manager, I would tell him to smile and wave at you, but keep a safe distance.

Live are not huge enough to throw the word legacy around. Even if the new Live outsell old Live, Ed will always be in the discussion when looking at the big picture of Live, obviously. Who cares though. On a side note, TDTH was well received outside of America, which I'm guessing is also pretty lasting amongst international Live fans.

What are you trying to say with that circle into oblivion above?

Read my replies to Nick where we're discussion sales or art in terms of legacy. Ed's legacy is in his art. He's changed as a musician, not for the better. He seemed to like taking the short easy way with most of the music he's created the past 10 years or so.

Who's talking about a lawsuit, compensation? Who's talking about an obsessed fan who's angry that Ed ignored him. I have read his body language, his interviews, his views......Listen the one thing about Ed that turns most people's stomachs, is he's not an honest abe, he comes off as Mr. Sham Wow. Yeah I don't know him, kinda glad I dont. My view of him isn't a snap one, it's made over a lot of years.

Why have I gotten under your skin so much? If I was an obsessed fan, I would have seen them 300+ times. I am only interested in discussing them for the art. There will be future Live, without Ed. I am excited to see how it will be received. The other 3 are going back to basics.....TGF proved this to a lot of people....they have the art, the heart, the sweat and the desire.
