You just don't get it. banghead.gif

I'm one of the few people on here even interested in Ed. I'm looking forward to his next album and tour. I'm cool with his solo stuff The fact is you are so blind to his situtation with Live it sickens me.

Did you ever think some of these Ed lovers get it? It's like "HEIL ED" when it comes to them.

This reminds me of my favorite NFL team, the Green Bay Packers. When Brett Favre kept screwing over the team by retiring then unretiring year after year it finally came to a head and they replaced him with Aaron Rodgers.

That created a dynamic exactly like what we see here. There was a split in the fanbase. There were Favre fans, who witnessed the Favre magic for over a decade and loved him. Then there were Green Bay fans that were sick of his shit because he wasn't doing what was best for the team.

The Favre fans automatically hated Aaron Rodgers (the next QB) before he even took his first snap. The Green Bay fans gave him a chance and supported him.

Moral of this post is Rodgers won the Superbowl last year.

Rodgers could have been a failure. Many times when someone replaces a legend they fall flat on their face. Then again, they could win the Superbowl.

The new lead for Live could not even come close to what we "expect" from Live, or he/she could be incredible. Odds are he/she will fall somewhere in between.

Aaron Rodgers managed to all but erase the legacy of Brett Favre. I have a feeling that Nick fears this more than anything.

I like the analogy. Espcially if you add the part to the story where Brett Favre tried to take over the head coach, offensive coordinator and defensive coordinator decisions for the Green Bay Packers for a few years before he left. And when he did so, the excellent head coach, offensive coordinator and defensive coordinator saw their roles cut down to just keeping the bench warm and holding a clipboard for Brett to read from. And the result was that the Green Bay Packers fell to last place and lost most of their fans. Then, after Brett Favre left the Packers and joined the Jets and the Vikings, he kept going onto the field with the Jets and Vikings teams wearing his Green Bay Packers Jersey running all of the Green Bay Packers plays from their play book so everyone would be sure to know that he was "Brett Favre of the Green Bay Packers". And also add the part where he was selling Green Bay Packers logo jerseys and merchandise on his website without paying any royalties to the corporations who own the trademarks and are owed licensing fees and royalties for the commercial use of the intellectual property. Oh, and the part where he took 75% of the Green Bay Packer's revenues and then, when the Packers owners weren't looking, he signed secret licensing and stadium concession deals that he didn't tell the Green Bay Packers about and tried to take all of the back door money ofor himself. When you add that stuff and think about how the Packers fans would feel about Brett Favre, then you get a more accurate anaolgy.

QUOTE(SJN1279 @ Jul 27 2011, 12:43 pm) *

Kevin Martin said that The Gracious Few was going to be his main focus in an interview earlier this year. Since that point, Candlebox has announced a summer tour that stretches into the fall, and the Gracious Few have played only a handful of US shows.

Candlebox has recently announced that they are working on a new album. Even if TGF plays a few shows this fall, it is pretty obvious that The Gracious Few is now a secondary focus for the Candlebox lead singer.

I really don't think you should be speaking for the Candlebox lead singer as to what his intentions are, even though you feel they are pretty obvious to you (and only you). TGF said they will be touring in the fall. The Candlebox summer tour as you stated that stretches into the fall is 3 dates in September, 1 in October and the Cruise in November. I wouldn't consider that a full schedule where TGF wouldn't be able to tour around. You spend a lot of time thinking about bands, their members and what they are doing with their careers, and you are not even a fan. It's obvious you have some kind of weird/creepy obsession with hoping that these men fail.

Great analogy WD, and congrats on the Super Bowl win, from a die hard Steeler fan.

I believe that during the 10 minutes each day that OutToDry isn't on this message board, he is peering through a little hole he drilled in the Live rehearsal room like the teenagers did in Porky's!

Weren't CCP working on a new band? The only reason they want to get back to work with LIVE is because Kevin Martin is focusing less on The Gracious Few and more on Candlebox.

Ed is doing well touring solo and doesn't need a LIVE reunion as much as CCP do at the moment. I'm sure if the roles were reversed and Kevin Martin had made TGF a top priority, we wouldn't be seeing this new version of LIVE coming to fruition.

Nick, again shut the fuck up for once.........you have no idea of the dynamics what Live, TGF and Candlebox are doing, nothing, nadda....stop trying to interject your opinion on it....it's ad nauseum. How many times do you diatribe about the same thing......it's 10 fucking second tom all over again.

The Live guys do not need any music to survive. This has been brought up many times before. They are doing what they want as creatively as they want. They'll operate as they see fit which allows the most flexibility to share their art.

As in it is a real poster.

The fact that he's claiming to be Live's is a fraud.

I guess when they come out with a new album and a new lead singer you'll still be saying his claim is true. It's like talking to a wall with "you people"!

Maybe you are unaware of Ed Kowalczyk's ties to Live.

Maybe you are unaware of Ed Kowalczyk's ties to Live.

4th and final member of the band.

Former frontman who sang vocals from DOAD to SFBM.

Artist who has personally decided to move on to a solo career to pursue a new musical direction.

No longer the lead singer of Live.

Is there something I'm missing blind fanboy?

LOL! I respect the Lions. They are moving in the right direction. If you can keep your young QB on the field it would help.

I am an Oklahoma State fan also so I was/am a huge Barry Sanders fan smile.gif

Quite true, but you know what, I've believed that for a long long time. I don't think you can debate those 2 qualities. Too many personal stories.

My opinion might be biased, but it's an accurate bias.
