New Live? Options

It is an overseas poster, and definitely the work of a concert promoter(notice the hat). However, the poster says LIVE's Ed Kowalczyk, so at least fans know while they are getting LIVE's music, they aren't getting LIVE.

If CCP tour around as LIVE featuring new lead singer "blank" that is fine. If they tour around as LIVE, to me that is not.

Look, everyone is entitled to their own opinion and feelings about something. The rest of us are die-hard (probably bigger fans than you Nick) Live fans, too.

The thing is, it's not up to us what they name themselves. Let it bother it all you want Nick, but if something this small bothers you this much compared to other things in life, this should really be the least of your concerns.

I've been following LIVE for the past 16 years, and I am really upset by the whole new lead singer issue. I haven't posted on TGF's FB in over a year because I am not a fan of that band. But LIVE is something that means a lot to me, and to see CCP do this bothers me a great deal.

I don't get it. As a follower of LIVE for the past 16 years if you are really upset over the whole "new lead singer issue" then go place the blame where it belongs. The person you should be upset with is Ed. He's the one that created the whole "new lead singer issue". There wouldn't be an issue if he came back after their hiatus and said c'mon guys lets get back to work. So I don't get why what CCP is doing bothers you? 3 guys want to get back to work, 1 doesn't, so you move on. Just like in my office. I work with a group, 1 person left, so what do we all go home and call it a day....nope you leave, you get replaced. It's as simple as that.

Nick being Nick, he'll just deflect the blame away from Ed onto CCP like he always does.

The thing is a relationship is a two-way street. He'll say CCP said some negative things about Ed publically, blah, blah, blah, etc., If Ed were a man and were capable of taking the high road, he would have stepped up, opened the lines of communication and taken the reigns of Live back and started over. Instead he continues trying to make a name for himself by performing and making a mockery of Live classics with his new "band".

The blame goes around equally with CCP and Ed, but Nick and fans like him (which there are very few of by the way) will never see it this way.

Also, although Ed isn't technically calling his band Live, he might as well be considering how they are marketed and what they perform.

Yep the christianity ed exhibits now is false. He was more christianlike when he collaborated on Live. Ego, greed and self complex took over.

Doesn't the whole situation just make Ed seem like a very unbelivable, untrustworthy person?

I used to be a huge fan of the guy, now I have trouble even looking at his picture. I certainly couldn't stand watching him in concert towards the end of Live's days.

I know Nick says that CCP will fail without Ed and that they won't make as much money without him (possibly true), but on the flip side, keeping Ed away from Live and the money is probably a financially smart thing to do, lest some more money disappears from the register, so to speak.

Bands get new singers and keep their name all the time. That should be OK to stomach even for you.

Everyone will know the difference between Ed and the new singer, and the fans will always know it is the second version of Live. But it should still be called Live if thats what CCP want.

Even if its true, and CCP want to bring Live back to make money or because Kevin is taking a break, that sounds good, cause they should be making dough and should keep Live going. They said from the beginning that Live will continue in some form.
