nice to see that kind of answer from CT based on that probing question, from the user which took a lot of balls to ask.

As for the DNA and the type of songs he's talking about? You'll find them on TC & SS, MJ and a lot of the obscure songs from TDTH.

Thanks for posting Dan.

so nice to have +Live+ news again. The guys sound like they are ready to roll. How nice will it be to look forward to a Live concert. I really had no desire to see them the last 10 years, but now I cannot wait!

More about the question of Ed. CT is amazing that he could express this..it harkens back to his blog about his feelings about band direction & drama.

QUOTE
Chad Taylor Mike also asked about Ed's feelings or thoughts on +LIVE+ resuming. First, I can't answer for Ed but I can assure you that we have an open line of communication that will remain private. Second, I can speak to my personal experience and this might help. There was once a time, right after our Ruby Lou was born that I felt trapped by +LIVE+. I was frustrated creatively with the band. I thought that we had lost our focus and no longer had the edge we needed. I took a somewhat passive-agressive stance and didn't provide my band mates with the feedback necessary to understand my point of view. I began to shut down and retreat internally but I never sat and talked with the guys about my frustrations. How could they know if I didn't speak my mind? In hindsight, I realize that my communication skills contributed to my need to retreat or shut down. I didn't have the skills needed to be upfront and forthright with my guys. Certainly, a few painful conversations would have been better than the outcome we experienced! I thought the magic of music would mend the divide but this was clearly not the case. I assume some of this to be in play with Ed as well. There is no "how to" manuel to be in a rock band and we were making it up as we went along. I failed my friends, the +LIVE+ community and myself by not communicating my thoughts. I also failed to listen generously to what they had to offer me. I've tried hard to incorporate these attributes in our dialog. I hope this helps you understand a bit more, I'm still learning too. - Chad Taylor49 minutes ago ·

All this talk has gotten me to listen to my unreleased tracks on my ipod.

Thank you guys! I have been loving me some Live lately. I listened to Deeper while I washed the car and got a sunburn on my back on Saturday.

Best part of the experience? Hearing Born Branded and really listening to these lyrics:

Shepherds in the field of reality
Blame the sheep for lost possibilities
The sheep may be lost
But the shepherd, he is just as lost

A shepherd is a man afraid of
Losing all the things he made up
To keep his feet planted high above the field

I'm talkin' 'bout mother, father, sister, brother, teacher, preacher
Anyone who dares to tell you where to stand
I say the love is in your hands
Just look at the world, don't try to understand

That is solid gold my friends. I will say this, and I want to be as clear and emphatic as I can be without typing in all caps. Everything that Live did on Mental Jewelry and before it was a product of pure enlightenment. You can replace the bible, the constitution, and the U.N. charter with Live's music catalog before 1994, and the world would be a more peaceful place filled with more enlightened beings. People should be studying these songs and these lyrics like the torah. And I take nothing away from the music that supports and and carries those lyrics. The lyrics and music would not be anything without each other. These songs have changed my life. Christian, Jew, Buddhist or athiest. You can listen to this philosophy of peace and oneness and the human condition and the human spirit; the idea that we should not blindly follow the rules and instruction of empty leaders, but rather we should find the truth ourselves, within ourselves. The plea for rebellion against so-called authorities on the truth started to disappear in Live's music after Throwing Copper. I hope they get back to some of that.

But I think that this is the spirit that Chad is talking about when he referrs to Live's place in humanity. That's the value that +Live+ has for me. That's why Live changed my life and why I am still here, hanging on to hope, that Live will once again emerge from the ashes and turn on another little light bulb over my head and plant the seed of an idea or an opening for enlightenment. With or without Ed. I relish the idea of getting more.

Heh heh. I'm glad that there is at least one person who is not getting sick of my babbling. I find it to be a nice outlet to just write my thoughts and feelings about Live. When I listen to the music, I am often moved to want to share the experience that I know so many others here have had and can understand. I've been so blown away by what Live was (and hopefully still is) that I still can't stop talking (writing) about it - many years later.

Im with ya Fish. I listen to Live everyday since the hiatus….no kidding. I always try to experience the feelings those shows evoked. I was listening to the SS show - Warehouse and I'll tell ya this show was froth full of attitude….Ed reminded me of the old eveready battery man (anyone remember those commercials?) " I dare ya to knock it off" attitude. The drums, bass & guitar in lock step and chruning out the energy. I must listen to what was and I hold so dear. It's the only band that I have those kind of feelings over the years and it's been a long time. The hope of new material and perhaps some old material done with the power of a mack truk...we'll I'll be happy. TGF showed many of us what they are capable of and they have the itch to get back to that feeling. Now they can be free to explore their musical depths and not be constrained.

Well, I decided to take a break from FANSOL/Facebook/Twitter etc for a few weeks, and when I come back it's all happening!

I had a quick read through the comments on Chad's posts - and all I can say is that no matter what, I've always known that being part of the LIVE 'community' was something special. It's the only band I have such a connection to, that even after most of the world has forgotten them, I follow everything they do, in internet post or song.

We're really lucky that way.

Chad's words echo that of a man who's made peace with his demons and is ready for another ride. Whether it was the hiatus or TGF - the band needed it. Even Ed.

I have been harsh on Ed, not as harsh as some, but I've hurled abuse at him sometimes on here, I'm sure. Thing is, - and this is what Nick doesn't get - if CT can forgive Ed, someone he's known personally his whole life, then who the fuck am I?

I'm in big support of hearing new LIVE stuff, with or without Ed. I just don't think I could handle another SFBM tho.

Whatever they do as LIVE, we will buy, listen and go see in concert - without any doubt. Any of us posting here will not deny that. Nick's a douche, he doesn't count.

Fish, it says I need to spread some around before I add 'rep' to your posts - but you echo much of my thoughts, brother!
