totally believe there is no help for him! no.gif

Much agreed my friend....this is why I now refuse to post anything that can be construed as something he needs to speak to me directly about.

QUOTE(Pokey @ Jul 17 2011, 7:02 pm) *

I'd put him on ignore, but the problem is that will only work if we all do because his idiocy will show up in quoted comments. So I think we'd either have to all collectively ignore the assclown, or hope that he gets banned (which I can't see Dan doing as he's a far more patient person than I am!). Because clearly this parasite isn't going away.

I don't mean to literally click "ignore" on the message board software. I mean that if everyone stops engaging in all of the back and forth with him, these inane dialogues wiill just turn into Nick having a ridiculous monologue with no audience. It will put him in a tiny little box (figuratively speaking) on this message board. It seems that Nick lobs a misguided, ignorant comment in many productive threads, and then everyone responds and piles on, and some of those responses gives him another little window of ridiculous thinking to focus on and twist and take the conversation deeper into ridiculoousness. If his initial lob is ignored, the rest doesn't follow. Nick can say what he wants about TGF and Live. TGF and Live are way bigger than Nick and his misguided opinions. I have no idea what's coming. But I have a feeling it is going to be big.

This is true, but if a fly is buzzing around your face, do you swat it or ignore it? Sometimes he just comes out with things so ridiculously fucking stupid it is difficult within human nature to ignore.

Agreed.

Just try to treat Nick like everyone seems to treat smellthecoffee. Did you ever notice that smellthecoffee tries to sabotage just about every thread with some dumb comment about coffee, as if it is funny to someone? And it looks like everybody pretty much ignores those posts and pretends they don't exist. And smell the coffee is is isolated on his own little island. Just try to do that.

Stop interacting with Silver Spoons? Sounds like a good idea.

Like what Chad had to say, just disappointed that he even had to address the issue again because of a few pee-ons!

I'm very interested to see what Live is bringing to the table. I just hope all the rehearsal talk doesn't leave The Churchbox Sessions in the dust.

The nice thing is that those who have been pissed at Ed can give Alive a spin if they want without feeling frustrated or angyr. If CT bought it and listened to it you guys can too. Thanks Chad - Screw you Nick!

True, but there is a difference between someone attempting a joke that falls flat, and someone who is just utterly moronic, ignorant, persistent and has an axe to grind. Nick seems to honestly believe that he is speaking "the truth" and all need to hear it. smellthecoffee is just entertaining himself.

I still can't work out what legitimate reason Nick has for being here.

I doubt it, CT said it's basically talk between lawyers now, so it's out of their hands, they're just playing the waiting game like we all are on the old material.

Except those of us who legitimately don't like Alive, I'd feel frustrated and angry about it just because of the music itself. But that's another story.

He's not misguided or ignorant. He knows what he's doing.

If The Gracious Few covered a few LIVE songs in concert, there would be zero need for a faux LIVE reunion. That is all I am saying.

I don't think Kev can pull off Ed's singing parts, or vice versa. Ed can't even do the harder Live songs well anymore. If Live comes out again I think it would have to be mostly or totally new.

CHAD OR PAT.....

What does Ed think about +Live+ reuniting without him? The fans would like to know. Is he OK with this? -ALSO- Does this return without Ed anything have to do with money? Meaning... "If we keep the name +Live+ we can use t...he name to sell more records"...apposed to "If we rename the band it will more than likely fail and not have as must success than if we keep the original name"? Serious questions, don't take offense.
is this you BRe? tongue.gif This guy has a lot of balls to ask that, and guise it as a serious question. People simply dont read very well. 'Ed's been unresponsive to all thing Live'

A reply from Chad on Facebook

QUOTE
Chad Taylor
Mike has asked if the +LIVE+ brand will sell more records than a new band and if this is the motivation to re-launch +LIVE+. This is a very good question. We have worked tirelessly touring the globe for several decades connecting fans with our brand of rock n' roll. It's not your average punter that loves +LIVE+ so it took a long time to cultivate. There is no doubt that the fan base will be interested in new +LIVE+ music but I can't predict how it will sell. For example, when we recorded Throwing Copper, we had absolutely no idea how big the album would be. I'm just as clueless now and we know there are no guarantees. My personal motivation is to feel the power and magic of +LIVE+ music. I want to take a moment to reflect upon the history we've built with you the fan. When we stepped into the hiatus, our intention was always to come back and say thank you. On stage is where we feel directly connected with our audience. Additionally, there is a spiritual component that is behind my interest in returning +LIVE+ to active status. I feel there is still work to be done for both the band and the audience. There is a specific type of song that has the earmark of a +LIVE+ song and we want to fall in love with writing and playing those songs. You could say it's in our DNA. - Chad Taylor
