New LIVE will fail like The Gracious Few before them. That is all.

Fantastic, you keep on focusing on that and the sales and commercial success, the rest of us will stick to the music.
Live was aready a "fail" for so many years before they broke all due to one man. We all know who that is. Personally I don't give a damn about sales and popularity, if it ends up being amazing music that I can blast through my speakers then that's all I care about. That is all.

oh wait that's not all just yet, maybe you should go join a message board of a band that you actually are a fan of?

If it isn't about sales, couldn't CCP start an entirely new band with a new singer. They could still play some LIVE tunes, and not bastardize a 20 year legacy that the four of them had with LIVE.

Calling their new band LIVE will backfire, mark my words.

Who bastardized Live's legacy? see my last post.

lol I find it funny that you think this could bastardize Live after that's all Ed did to the band in it's final years. CCP will be looking to bring the band back to its roots with a fresh start.

I'm not saying they're going to be a run away commercial success and I DON'T CARE if they are or not, I just am interested in the music and it is IMPOSSIBLE to say they have bastardized anything before you've even blood heard it. Once again, if Ed isn't involved then you don't care. If they end up really enjoying themselves, playing music that they love and are just plain having fun, then I don't see that as a backfire. Once AGAIN it shows all you care about it sales and that's what you judge it on.

Like I said, go start an Ed board and hang out there because you're not a fan of Live.

As Pokey put, no one here defines "fail" in the same way you do.

Alive could have gone triple platinum with Ed playing huge arena shows, and most of us would still call his music a failure.

Dude is was the record companies!!! they didn't promote them properly!! it is NEVER, EVER, Ed's fault. Absolutely nothing is his fault when it comes to anything.

They can make good music without using the LIVE name. Why even bother upsetting a portion of LIVE's fanbase by pulling the trigger on this move. Most of the CCP fans on this board would be bitching to high heaven if Ed pulled the same move, so stop being hippocrites.

Hippocrites....lol. A bitch rich coming from you.

The only portion of LIVE's fanbase that sounds upset by the move is YOU.

Personally i can't wait to hear the new material and the new singer.

Chart others 90's bands in the 2000's and you would find similar dwindling album sale results btw. To pin it all on Ed is very short sighted. It isn't like CCP lit the sales world on fire by replacing Ed with Kevin Martin. They actually lost most overseas fan support in the process.

What? Do you have the facts to back that it up? by the way no other 90's band dropped off the face like Live did, and it was purely the music direction. All of the 6 tgf shows in Europe were packed. Seems like 95% of the people hearing about a new live sound encouraged for it and those who are asking for Ed back don't understand he doesn't want back. Now youre really talking out of your ass. Please stop. You're really making this silly now. Very silly. I know its your opinion and you're entitled to it....but it's a foolish one.

one more nugget for ya.....tgf has outsold alive in the US. I've been told for certain, but I didn't actually see the #'s

Your creepy OCD with Ed and all things financial is worrying, seriously, seek help. I can't argue with you anymore, you're like a religious fanatic. I honestly don't know why you are still here, no one shares your point of view, even people who liked Ed's material aren't like you, you're doing more harm than good to everyone involved, including Ed. It's proven you're not a Live fan, you should perhaps stick to Ed's facebook and everyone would be happier. Live is moving on, if you're not willing to move on with them, then move on with Ed.
You don't even have any interest in discussing the old Live, I invited you to at least even say something about the albums in the favorite album thread, but you just have no interest other than to incite arguments around financial success.

Review from TGF in Amsterdam:
After world tours, festivals and so on, they now performed for a handful of die hards in the Old Hall of 'De Melkweg'. Fortunately as time passes it got more crowded. It is not sold out. But that's not a bad thing, there are only fans in here.

As for albums sales, TGF could have outsold Alive over the counter. However since Ed is still touring and selling and signing copies of Alive while TGF is on self-imposed hiatus, I'm sure more copies of Alive have been purchased than The Gracious Few's debut album.
And that is not taking into account overseas where Alive has outsold TGF's album easily.

Yet Ed playing sets with 80% of the setlist being Live music isn't going to "bastardize a 20 year legacy that the four of them had with LIVE"?

He's ruining classics with his piece of shit band.

As for you, go fuck yourself. Yeah I'll probably get a warning for this, but I don't give a damn. You don't give a shit about the band, you don't give a shit about the music, and you don't give a shit about Chad Taylor, Patrick Dahlheimer, or Chad Alan Gracey. Fuck you for that, fuck you for not having any respect for 3 founding members of the band that this very board and site are devoted to. You're a fucking pathetic piece of shit. Turn your nose up to this post, I don't give a damn, this post is full of raw emotion, something that Live, and especially Ed, used to be about. You wouldn't know that, because you're a fan of his shit neutered "rock", go fuck that and go fuck yourself.
