OTD hit the nail on the head, he stated that I'm on the fence (somewhat) and no one is jumping down my throat, that's because even though Nick and I have similar views on it, there is a big difference.
I have absolutely NO hesitations that musically any form of new Live will kick all kinds of ass, CCP have proved that over and over again. My hesitation is that thinking of it as "Live" will just be hard because even though its 3/4 of the original Live, there is still 1/4 missing. That doesn't mean I won't enjoy it, just that there is a piece missing. Maybe I'll have no problems, maybe I won't, I don't know until I hear it, I'm hesitant but excited regardless. I think it's the fact that in his prime, Ed was so unique, if he was more bland or mundane then it would be easier but he offered something so different in rock music, that if someone else sang his songs it could just sound ... wrong. Maybe that's what draws me to a lot of music, the uniqueness, anyone singing Morrissey or Nick Cave songs other than them just sounds ... wrong because there is only one way for them to go in my mind. But, all new material is something else ... so I'm hesitant, but excited.

Nick on the other hand is already dismissing it as a total failure (or cash grab as he said, even though the 2 seem to be at odds with each other) and is totally diminishing 3/4 of Live's talents and importance. I am in no ways saying it's going to suck, or CCP are nothing without Ed. This is why this sort of behavior gets a rise out of people in the band because it's insulting to them, and if they want to call someone out on it then who cares? I prefer seeing they're human beings, not politicians like Ed where everything is handled so carefully-carefully so as not to rock the boat.
If I had worked damn hard all my life like CG to put the effort into my work that I did and came up with a great history of work for some punk who doesn't know music if it's blasted directly into his brain to tell me that without a particular singer that I'm not going to make it, then I'd be pretty fucking insulted too.

This is ridiculous. C,C,P have been nothing but straight forward, very generous, nice, awesome guys to their fans for decades yet you take the side of a vitriol spewing fan that has been slamming them for several years now. They have done nothing to tarnish their legacy other than maybe giving a little to much leeway to the dick that was tarnishing their legacy. Standing up to someone that was clearly never a fan and has ulterior motives is to be expected. Real fans of live should appreciate this.

They can do whatever they want. i wish they would be above talking shit about ed and arguing with fans. i agree with what they are saying most of the time but i feel like its your parents getting divorced and your dad telling you your mom is a ho. i know you guys disagree but that is how i feel with most of this shit.

You're judging it before you've even heard anything. If you're a fan of these 3 guys (which if you consider yourself a Live fan, I would imagine you should be ... but we all know youre not) then you'd at least be like my self, have some hesitations but want to see how it plays out. You've already judged it and decided to be critical about it before you even know anything about it. You're so utterly close minded about it. Rather than being a royal pain looking for attention and trying to advertise how much Ed is needed, why don't you reserve your judgement for later.
All this is going to prove is how you were never a fan of Live, just of Ed. Or that you just saw Live as Ed, in which case you have no business listing yourself as a fan of the band.
