QUOTE
Because what he needed a change from is playing with CCP, being beholden to CCP to present the music to them and tolerate their input, and sharing revenue with CCP on albums and touring (which was probably still 25% each). Ed needed a change from the dynamic within Live, the economic deal that Live had and the friction between them. It also sounds like Ed was critical of Chad Taylor's guitar skills and the sound coming from the drums - based on comments made by CT and CG. It got to the point where CT was in tears and Gracey was ripping him a new a-hole for putting him behind plexiglass. Every time Ed presented CCP with his new music, they probably couldn't hold back their gag reflex and probably tried to no avail to get Ed rock the songs up a little. Every time CCP presented Ed with music that had testicles attached to it, like the riffs that turned into Believe and then Honest Man, Ed probably dressed it up in a skirt and put a crucifix on it. That probably turned the gag reflex into full on vomit right in Ed's face. As far as I'm concerned, CCP should have been the ones that should have wanted a change and wanted to move on

Bob, it is starting to not be funny anymore. I have once stated that we all took a good laugh at Z (with all due respect and love to him and what he does) when he said "I know everything but I can not tell you that, sorry". Remember? You start acting like a new Z. It ain't funny. In case you have the info the fans are eager to hear and you were told not to reveal it, you'd better not say a single word and not reveal any hint you are that close with a band.

Ed, its all good.
when Adam and I did get together,
I really never discussed the situation
out of respect for Adam, Ed and C,C,P
he did mention some tension but that was kinda of it
I was more interested in hearing Adams music
and appreciate the opportunity to open for him
and I can't wait to open for Adam Taylor and Adam Kowalczyk on
August 13th!

Adam Taylor and Kowalczyk are playing together? Maybe they've gone "fuck this days of our +lives+ shit, we're starting our own band".

Quite an interesting statement was found by myself on youtube:

QUOTE
.....the so called $100,000 bonus that he supposedly requested was because the other members of LIve asked him to drop what he was doing with the solo record and play shows with them. He already had the studio booked...would of been money out of his pocket.....I see nothing wrong with his request.

What is that even based on?

I can make up a claim like that. the $100k bonus was for his sick dying aunt to undergo life saving surgery.

Also with something like that, how easily it could be messed up. I seriously doubt that CT as unhappy as he was with how things were wanted MORE of that. Now I can see CCP saying to Ed - "dude quit the solo stuff, quit writing for Live on your own and lets make music together again!". I can see how that story can be morphed into "don't go Ed!!". Chinese whispers?

Having said that though, lets say Ed got things his way and he stayed with Live AND did a solo record. I don't get where that would have lead things. Does that mean if he had saved all his ego writing for the solo record that the next Live record would have involved CCP more because he was using his solo stuff as an outlet to have creative control? I mean we do know that "the last Live song" being Believe was written by CT and Ed together which was rare.
Since Live in the later years basically was Ed going solo, it wouldn't make a lot of sense to have technically 2 solo projects on the go at once (Live and solo). And if this was the case, would his solo touring act have contained so many Live songs if the band was REALLY on a hiatus?

Ed Kowalczyk's solo AND a Live album in the works - that was one of Ed's last tweets before the hiatus.

I recall it perfectly well

And I started dreaming.

The news about hiatus came in a couple of weeks
