Appetite did well on a very small rock radio format. However, the band did nothing to capatalize on that success and have barely toured since that point.

So what?

We're arguing with an autistic gym teacher. He has no friends in real life, and those that know him probably feel sorry for "that poor retarded guy." Stop feeding the troll!

I think it is sad that a medical doctor would use the terms autistic and retard to put down someone else on a message board. Compassion is a major component to your profession, is it not?

As for song writing credits, why were they able to be changed on Paradiso?

I never called Secret Samahdi a flop, I called it a sales disappointment. I'm sure the guys from LIVE didn't expect to lose 6 million in sales on their follow-up to Throwing Copper.

um, i say you are a huge fake and liar!!

Shift those goalposts again

When Ed became the sole writer the band wasn't as successful as it had been. However, the band was on a downward trajectory after Throwing Copper. The band wrote most of Secret Samahdi together, and the album was a flop as a follow-up to Throwing Copper.

You said flop kid.

No act outdoes a monumential multplatinum chart success.......no act. No one expected SS to outsell TC. So they lost 6 million in sales that didn't occur? Was that the forecast? How the fuck do you get that? You haven't the slightest idea what youre talking about....absolutely fucking nothing.

And Eddie K did how well riding the coattails of Live? Hell, he even called his album Alive. He's basically dropped the promotion of Alive in favor of promoting Live. He even said the spirit of Live continues with him and his band. His shows are heavily weighted towards Live and I'd bet 100% of the people are there to see him because of Live, as in the Live hits of the 90's.

1. You did call it a flop.
2. The credits on Paradiso reflect only those individual recordings of the songs, not the original recordings. If you recall, this was after the contracts were re-negotiated to basically get Ed more $$$$$. This reflects one of the reasons our favorite band isn't together anymore, not the original writing credits.

All you need to know about the quality of the material post-TDTH is that EK barely plays any of it in his current sets. If he won't even play it, you know it's bad.

I doubt they were even concerned with sales figures. At least to the point of trying to figure out how many they'd sell compared to TC. They weren't going after TC 2 anyway so I'm sure they figured it wouldn't perform the same. At the end of the day they made the exact album they wanted and I'm sure they were very happy with how it was received by their core fans. You're just making up a bunch of shit to try to diminish SS somehow. It's not going to work.

Damn, I was hoping to answer this one as Ned, "The reason Ed K doesn't play anything from those albums is because Ed wasn't true to himself when he wrote those songs. Ed, in all his graciousness, was writing songs to try to please his disloyal band mates and keep Alive (tee hee) the magic of what Ed had created all these years as being the sole reason for Live's success."

That sounds about right, Eh Nick?

Let me set my views straight(I'm as guilty as anyone on here for starting fights and debates), but thats what keeps this place interesting in the downtime.

Ed and CCP were all a huge part of LIVE's success. I always thought their chemistry at shows is what made them stand out from other bands. LIVE was my favorite band during the Throwing Copper era, but I really became a fanatic around the time that V was released.

Do I enjoy Ed solo in concert, yes I really do. Is it the same as LIVE? No it isn't, but it is better than LIVE circa 2009, which was just brutal. The last great LIVE show that I saw was probably July 4, 2008 at Red Rocks.

I would love for LIVE to come back(with Ed), and for Ed to continue solo with acoustic shows, but as of now, I just don't see that scenario as being likely. Maybe one day.

LIVE, Ed Solo, and The Gracious Few would make everyone happy. smile.gif

way to circle back to the happy medium of being politically correct. lol.gif Your boy is the reason for the split and he's the reason why he's not coming back. I think the future holds a lot of music from C&C&P, some of it new, some of it rehashed the way it was meant to be published. (TGF & Live) Expect some exciting times, I think there will be more folks wondering why Ed chose his path over a successful one. There will be the detractors of course. Ask yourself do you want good music or do you want over commercial schlock?

He plays 2 songs from the album.

He plays 2 songs total from V, BoP, and SFBM.

I rest my case.
