QUOTE(Wambangalang @ Jul 9 2011, 7:52 pm) *

Nick i dont like the way youre treated around here sometimes but really dude, let it go. Live is transforming into something else and whether its good or bad, it cant be worse than leaving it the way it was. Change is good. And at the end of the day they just need to make good music. If they dont understand that simple thing then ed or no ed no-one will care about them.

But can't they make "good music" without restarting the band LIVE again? Wasn't that the whole point of The Gracious Few in the first place?

Are you trying to say they're done? Nick put a fucking sock in it. You'll come crawling back to Live once you realize you've been duped by your master. and......TGF isn't going anywhere. That record relighted the doused flame for C&C&P.

so you're led to believe. I will state that what we got the last 10 years flies as B music with a certain few collaborative efforts.

If you look at the notes on LIVE at the Paradiso, the only collabarative efforts were Selling the Drama, Lakini's Juice, Operation Spirit, and Purifier.

Oh, so what are we really debating here son? I guess Live at the paradiso record is the one million dollar record eh? So sad that all you think of is Ed is the center of everything in your world. I feel bad for Yoda and Hulk, they must feel unloved.

Anyhoo, I think there is some new and interesting music coming from C&C&P, also C&C&P&K&S in the very near future.

Nick you and I have both said that Live wont truly be Live to us without Ed but I imagine it's for different reasons. To me if it were Ed, CT and PD with a new drummer then that still isn't Live. Do you agree? I know you're gonna go on a whole "but the general public won't notice if the drummer has changed!!" thing but god damnit it's not about what sells. It's about the Music. And all members of Live are equally important.
The writing credits are only listed as such that you mentioned on Paradiso because that is a snapshot of their work. Again all you care about are "the hits". I can't even fathom the thought of you sitting through Unsheathed, I can see you playing Live albums and skipping the songs that werent singles.

Your reliance on what's popular is scary. Ed being the front man makes him the most recognizable member to the masses, so to you this makes him the greatest. It's like your man love for Hulk Hogan, he was the most popular but he wasn't good enough to tie Owen Hart's laces, doesn't bother you because whatever is most popular is what's most important. So don't go thinking Live won't be live without Ed because he's the most important. It's because he's one piece of a 4 piece puzzle.

Also god don't even fucking start on "what was the point of tgf". The point was and still is another outlet to create great music. The fact your brain can't wrap itself around that concept is scary. The fact you're in charge of imparting any kind of knowledge on children with these sorts of mindsets is scary!

Nick is the waiter in the Freaks video.

I think some of us long timer old schoolers will be intrigued with some things on the docket.

Pokey, good post, well put.

I find it very hard to be enthusiastic about this.

I would like to see CCP focus on one thing and get that one thing done instead of a bunch of things (bsides, TGF, LIVE, Chad+his brother, etc.)

I know (hope?) I'm wrong but I feel like there has been a whole lot of nothin' lately.

nick... TGF was TGF music....NOT +LIVE+ music thats the point!!!!! but i suppose thats hard for someone who thinks ED was alllllll of +LIVE+ . There were four of them, who knows the new +LIVE may have five? six? members.... oh and to jump in before you chime back with but ED wrote such and such and his voice bla bla ..... his lame version of +LIVE+ is the real crime to all us fans...

Ed wrote all the lyrics and most of the music for LIVE. Whatever CCP come up with, will likely not sound like LIVE at all.

Yes and the majority of that just happened to be the cds that were absolute shit. V, SFBM, and the majority of BOP. MJ, TC, and SS were collaborated efforts and those cds clearly speak for themselves.

What about TDTH, which was mainly Ed. It is probably still my favorite LIVE album overall.

I'm not saying what CCP create won't be good, but it will be a departure from LIVE. Even The Gracious Few sounded much more like Candlebox than it did LIVE.
