it was a very good performance in my opinion, don't get all the hate on it.

Really? I have seen White Discussion at the end of a Live concert more than a dozen times. All four performers lose themselves in the performance and melt together into a single alternative rock monster that melts the faces off the crowd.

When I watch that performance, they might as well have had walls between them. They never even looked at each other once. Ed started the song singing different notes, like the way Beyonce sings the star spangeld banner. He stopped to take a long drink in the middle of the song. Ed did the Sofia gyrate, jiggle and shimmy. But he didn't lose himself in it. He was just putting on a perfunctory performance. In my opinion, that was soulless.

Yet, with that said, it was light years ahead of that piece of shit performance Ed and the Wannabes just gave in Brazil. I'll give him this, he does seem to be more inspired these days. It's just mind boggling that he had to screw over his lifelong friends and ruin a great band like Live to get what he wanted. He continues to destroy the legacy of Live and if they aren't there yet, they will reach the point of no return. Unless CCP can pull something out of the hat, cherish the memories.

Watch the 2nd one that I posted, because that one is even more intense.

I think i prefer the first one personally, although I have always loved the Sao Paulo gig on youtube as a whole. There's something about the first one that is in a small setting, crowd totally intense etc..

I found this video of White, Discussion on YouTube - I'd never seen it before and as far as I know it hasn't been posted here either....

This was the final song Live ever played....

One of my favorite Livesongs. Ed seriously ruined that song. I've seen them rock that way harder!

My chronology is a little rusty. What did they know at the time of this show? Was the hiatus announced? Ed had started the solo shows, right? Obviously, the ultimatums and fincial screwery had happened. The plexiglass edict was issued and enforced. The creative dictatorship was being imposed. And people weren't happy. By the time they got to this last show, I'm sure performing on stage with Ed was like being at a family picnic with your ex-wife who you just found out had slept with all your best friends and drowned your kids in the lake.

I know someone who worked for the band at the time & as of this performance "there was tension" is what I was told, but there weren't plans to break up (which was euphimised as a hiatus). My friend was about to be given more responsibility, indicating no plan to end the band, & then abruptly was told "we'll get back to you... " & then went & got another job. That's as much inside info as I know. So I guess CC&P found out about all things cited in their lawsuit (hence the "hiatus") shortly after this show.

I'd say pretty much everything was in place but perhaps maybe not the depth of Ed's financial screwery was known. CT didn't seem to go off about this until after the last show was done and dusted, and I doubt he'd have known about it, waited awhile afterwards and then said it.
