This was part of his plan, quit/leave live under the guise of solo, then realize he can cash in on the Live cash cow due to the simple fact he wrote the songs.....no problem with that. His solo work ain't cutting it seems.

He might as well advertise his shows as 'Ed K plays the songs of Live'.

Anyone remember when Waters left Floyd? He's done the same thing, but, Roger has split all of his shows pretty much down the middle of his solo works and the Floyd songs.

Sounds like the SA folks got treated to some good energy shows. I can't and wont make comments on the content of the songs and the backing band.

The only sad thing here is the way Ed treated C&C&P with the whole ultimatum, contract stuff. Serves him right to whatever criticism he gets or whatever happens to him. All I know is he won't be singing with Live anymore since he's answered that question in fact how he referred to his old mates. But thats for the 50 other threads about that topic.

I can see when Alive 2 is made that the setlist will be basically the same as it is now, Grace will be kept and then just every Alive song will be replaced with songs from the new album and all the Live songs will be kept the same. As opposed to say going "hmm now I'm solo, I have 2 solo albums, I'll rely on my artistic integrity and the fans true love for me and just play my solo stuff with MAYBE 1 or 2 Live songs as a treat"

QUOTE(Hobbsy @ Jul 2 2011, 5:24 am) *

I can't even bear to watch this shit. If he wanted to go out and do his own thing then why play these songs?

He wants the best of both worlds. His new music isnt doin it for the fans who go to the shows so he pulls out some songs that he knows they want to hear. If thats the case then why the fuck isnt he still with CCP? Fuckin hypocrite.

CCP didn't want anything to do with him.

Only now becasue he's rejected the attempts to have a discussion. Ed is the only hypocrite here. It's easy to see and those that attend his shows are seeing that.

Um, they only wanted a discussion because The Gracious Few didn't find a big enough audience. If you look at interviews/tweets from 2009/2010, the Chad's wanted nothing to do with Ed.

You can continue to bring up the tweets from around the hiatus time and there after. I know what went down. Here if you go read the facebook stuff for Live and Ed, folks are asking for a reunion. For the good of the fans and the band, Ed's the one turning himself away. I'd have to say the comments about when he called them individuals in his latest interview where the question was asked, speak volumes of what he thinks of them as people. Ed's as stubborn and egotistical as ever, perhaps moreso. That's how I see it.
Whatever, he's no longer in Live or will ever be again unless he has a change or heart and mind.

Nick can only speculate as to why they were willing to talk to Ed. Nothing was even said that they wanted to definitely reunite Live. All CT said was that the 2yr hiatus was coming up and that he'd speak to Ed. Who knows what was discussed, they could have been talking Churchbox demos or anything. To say he was pleading with Ed for an instant reunion is just what Nick wants to believe it was.

at least Adam should have stayed in the band and maybe it would have been better, then I might have gone...makes me cringe thinking about this band trying to play LIVE songs

Lakini's Juice from Rio (July 1, 2011) - I assume it's Rio because Ed mentions the city during the song.

This is shot from the photo pit in front of the stage - some of the shots are quite unusual. Audio isn't the best though. Ed said on Facebook that he intends on posting some footage from the shows, so maybe this will be part of it?

Check out this guy's channel. He has a number of other videos from the night. If only we could find a decent audio recording to sync his video up with.
