CT has been quiet about what the new LIVE is going to do. But, I'm curious, if it was up to you which would you rather see ? ...

A. New lead singer that sounds similar to Ed. Many bands before, that lost their lead singer, have done exactly this. This way, when the hits are played, it's not far off from the original.

B. Lead singer that sounds nothing like Ed. No "old stuff" in concert. In other words, TGF pt. 2

I'm torn. tough decision. I'll support them no matter what....but I'd rather have TGF.

I think that there is an in-between. Alice in Chains, mostly, and to a lesser extent Sublime with Rome, have gone in between.

I had Alice in Chains singer William DuVal's previous band's albums, and I thought he was a smart fit as Jerry Cantrell's band's singer. He could do the Layne stuff, but wasn't a clone, and had his own "thing". It seems Sublime followed that direction with Rome. I don't think he is any dead ringer for Brad, but he does a good enough job having his own thing and being able to faithfully sing the hits.

Both of these bands have more potential for new material to be relevant as opposed to, say, Journey going with an absolute clone.

On the other hand, Sammy Hagar sounds nothing like Roth. So I suppose you never know.

love the alice in Chains album.it has that distintive sound which they managed to keep.also i love Sammy hagar more than Roth, i'll support CCP whatever they do! rockin.gif

I come mostly to see new postings of old material. All this new singer/new band stuff I just don't really care. I did originally but it has been brought up in 10 different threads. I'm over it.

Right. I care about the message board. I care about the topics. I care about past Live material.

I don't care whether or not the new Live is either of the two options presented in this thread. I don't care if Ed is or isn't in the future of "Live". I don't care if they get a new lead singer or just go with CCP.

Thus my response of not really caring what they decide to do.

Basically I am saying they can be CCP, TGF, or bring Ed back and I would react the same. I'll give it an honest listen.

That's the official fanpage and forums, endorsed by TGF.

Sounds like CT is making good on getting the Churchbox sessions released, so they're now mastered and artwork selected. Call me very excited to get this package and whatever they decide to do regarding new material.

The lack of TGF tour this summer has a lot to do with Live & CB works. CB's radio support tour and EP project and Live's stuff, plus the Live guys want to spend with time their families. There is a method to the madness....some others in here like to throw steaming piles of dung on the wall to see if it sticks. I wont mention the name tongue.gif
