The you tube comments do tell a good story on what people think of this song. I've had people ask me where they can get a copy of this song after they found out it was LIve and searched endlessly for it.

True, Mallrats movie would have been most ideal, but the cult following is very real today for it. If we ever get a Live reunion with Stubborn ED, I'd say release it then.

i think ive just realised ive never heard change! How did i miss that one in all these years???

Daaaaaaaan!!!!!!!!!!! hi.gif

Sorry for the delay. I saw your post when I was at work and forgot about it.

Here's a link to the only version of Change that is freely circulating.
http://www.mediafire.com/?4zljetam8lpzknp

Note: it's not a very good recording. What what I recall Live performed this at a show that was being webcast. Unfortunately this was back in the 90's where streaming was very new and the bitrate was very low and sound quality was nothing like it's like now. Luckily a technologically adept member of Live-Web managed to record this. I'm pretty sure it was recorded by Marc (a recent member of Fansoflive) so say thanks to him if you get a chance because without him this songs would be another lost track...

Hey People

First time poster, on this forum, however, used to be a regular on SOY mailing list through email way back in the 90's. Also a regular on the "message boards" of many early Live Sites; including the Australian Fans one which featured the character off the Throwing Copper standing on a map of Australia. Probably about 1997. I was an absolute fanatic. I went to many concerts and bought anything I could lay my hands on.

Mel Jackson- you still out there anywhere?

Turned around about V era , not sure if was becausue of the music or because I just grew out of that stage of my life.

Anyway, got back into the band recently, especially Secret Samadhi. Back to this thread; I reckon Gas Hed is the song - never got released that could of made it it. Even non-Live fans, especially those that have a have a liking to hard-rock/metal, really get into.

Freaks should never have been released as a single. It was an absolute momentum stopper. Lets not forget, at the time Live were probably the top band in the world, having just released Secret Samadhi, debuting at no.1 in the US- and were were coming off that fantastic single Lakinis Juice. I still have a US copy of Rolling Stone with Live on the front cover describing them as the no.1 band. Looking back, you could probably say that the release of Freaks was the turning point for Live, especially in terms of mainstream popularity. It should have been Gas Hed, or probably Turn my Head - or even Rattlesnake. Yes, I know this was eventually released as a single (but all too late) for mainstream success/radio-play. Bizarre decision when you think about it.

Anyway, Its been about 10 years now - but now through Youtube and over a few beers am looking back at some of the old stuff! What a sensational band!

QUOTE(World Dreamer @ Jun 21 2011, 11:29 pm) *

Take a look at all the Zack and Miri postings on YouTube of the scene with Hold Me Up. Tons of people who don't know who Live is are posting things like "What song is this?" or "Where can I get this song?" etc. Saw one the other day "I'm dying to get my hands on a quality mp3 of this song."

I just checked my mediafire account where I uploaded the 'attempted remaster' version of Hold Me Up almost 3 years ago. It has been downloaded 19,462 times!!. Remember that every one of the people who downloaded it would have had to do some independent interweb research to find it...

It is flat out stupid that Live didn't capitalize on this song when the movie came out. Just put it on iTunes. Don't even have to produce any CD's or anything. Just have the file uploaded to iTunes. That's it. Get something out of it while you still can.

For whatever reason(s) they have already blown multiple chances to release this song when interest in it was high.

Thanks for the welcome into your little Live club people=NOT!- seriously, there are a lot of fringe dwellers like me, early Live fans that got turned off at some time but now want to make a return! Stop being so fickle and welcome a returning fan!

Like I Do............amazed me at the time this wasn't released as a single. Monster hit waiting to happen. And to a lesser extent, Sparkle off of TDTH. With that said, Live did a great job over the years picking the 'right' singles. Cool thread.
