QUOTE(Aitkens @ Jun 9 2011, 2:32 pm) *

Creed's first album was solid. From there it became the Scott Stapp show. Hmmm, sounds like another band I know where the lead singer took over and ruined the band.

I honestly liked every Creed album and Scott's solo album. I thought they were really good. I was a sucker for that formula of catching riffs and strained, faux-passion vocals.

Chris Shinn?

Or James Mercer from The Shins and Broken Bells. Seems like Broken Bells is sort of a part time thing with Danger Mouse doing so much else. Broken Bells

As much as I like that performance I think it would be a mistake to try to get someone too much like Ed. Didn't work for Blind Melon and that guy was amazingly close to Shannon. They end up getting compared but can never fill their shoes.

I guess that meeting with Ed this summer, that Taylor mentioned, is a pipe dream.

What really sucks is that Ed is as happy as can be rehashing Live and playing new stuff while CC&P are interested in looking at reuniting. He's basically slammed the door shut on them with is comments.

Personally, I don't understand how you could just drop your three best friends, that you put in so much time and energy with, and had so much sucess with, just like they never mattered. I mean - he's not even speaking with the people he's now spent a vast majority of his life with.

If they want to hire a new singer and tour as Live I'd be interested in hearing the old songs, but I don't know how interested I'd be in the "new" Live material. Not only is Ed the voice of Live, he also wrote a lot of the lyrics that made Live's songs distinct. I don't think any new Live song would truely be written in the same way.

I know we now have Ed and TGF to enjoy (and possbly Live 2.0) but I still think the whole thing SUCKS!

That guy used to rock. There is no Ed of 1990s. Admit it and carry on. I do not think that having a new signer will make a difference. Who knows Live anyway? So even if Ed is back Live will be an entirely new band for most of the people. What Live needs is a good voice that rocks and good catchy real rock songs.
