Unfortunately, even though not mentioned, it would be more of a reflection on Live and what happened to them rather than Ed himself.

Not being mentioned is just a reflection of the particular reviewer. He mentioned only two acts that performed on the main stage that day and even neglected to mention the headline artist(Seether) in his review.

Funny enough, the TGF audience from the very beggining, from the first shows, really does look and sound as a diabolic riot compared to this one.

You then talked about how TGF crowds look like a diabolic riot compared to this...well, I can tell you first hand, that the TGF show that I went to half or more than half were sitting in chairs at their table looking disinterested unfortunately. Is that to say that is all TGF crowds? No, absolutely not but I wouldn't bash this one unless you would make the same comment about a TGF clip...which I don't think you would.

I think it is not the quantity, but quality that counts. And have you read my post properly without yer sunglasses on?

Since all you have talked about so far is about the crowd, you can only infer that you are talking about the quality of the crowd. Which I responded how can you tell the quality of the crowd? What makes a good quality crowd vs a bad and how can you tell based on this 1 minute video clip? How are we to judge this? Were we standing in the heat with the crowd?

So, the answer is yes...I read and understood your posts.

Well TGF doesn't have any #1 singles in their repertoire either. I'd expect a bigger response from a crowd that size too, especially since it looks like he closed the set with it. Nice that he can play in front of that many people, but that's a far cry from the Live days, even if the crowd was large. He does seem out of place on that lineup and some of the others he's playing. I guess Live has still got some goodwill. Too bad that couldn't actually be Live on the lineup. I can't imagine EK continuing to get these kind of shows with his back up band or new material.

Lightning Crashes was #1 in 1995 not 2005 Depending on the age range of the crowd, a lot of people may not have heard the song other than every once in a while on the radio. They might not even realize how big that sound was back then. It's not like many of these people came specifically to see Ed as he wasn't even the headliner.

I think 90%+ of us agree the quality of his music is quite sub-par compared to when it was at it's peak!

A review of the show:
I've bolded some comments that are bound to be discussion points

I had to rush out of MCR to head backstage to chat with She Wants Revenge, so I made it back just in time for the second half Ed Kowalczyk, former lead singer of Live. I was actually surprised at how much the seats packed in at this point, but more so how many people were on their feet jamming with Kowalczyk.

As I got to my seats I understood why, there is a reason Live was around for so long and I think it might just be Kowalczyk, he was WAY better than I expected. As people realized they knew a lot more of the songs he sings they began to sing along. I walked into the solo version of Lives “The Dolphins Cry.”

As Kowalczyk went in to “Stand,” it was clear to see this man was a music vet. The song sounded amazing on stage, and Kowalczyk didn’t miss a beat and the crowd loved it. As the notes of “Heaven,” came out the speaker the crowd screamed! The song was touching as I watch a father and daughter dance to the song, I was touched and it was a beautiful song. The song was originally written for Kowalczyk’s daughters.

Kowalczyk stage presence was amazing, and he really worked the crowd. “I Alone,” was next up for Kowalczyk. The highlight for me and the crowd it seemed was the last song “Lightning Crashes,” it was amazing and from my seats you could see the lawn swaying to the song. It was amazing and I almost wished I was partying with the lawn crowd, they were having a blast.

Grade: A-
