It might be worth trying to contact tour promoters let them know that there are fans who want to see TGF here in Australia.

'Michael Coppel Presents' has done all of Live's/Ed K (solo)/Ed K (band) tours of Australia.

Frontier Touring - another major promoter

or maybe try to get on a national festival tour?

I would just like to point out that over here in SA, the major (if not the only) tour promoters are absolute wankers.

Thanks.

Guys - good luck on getting TGF in your area. They put on a good show.

Maybe you Aussies can pitch in for gas money for the plane as an inticing offer.

emailed both Michael Coppel and Frontier Touring with requests. Hopefully others can jump on board and do the same!

Did you hear anything back Pokey?

Any of those Festivals would be good too although I would hope they wouldn't get tacked on after all the freakin tickets were sold out!

I didn't hear anything back other than the stock standard "thanks for your feedback!" email. Still, I encourage more people to email in, the more voices the more likely to get some kind of response I guess.

If they did get themselves to a festival it could be good for them. Play an early festival set at something like the Big Day Out or Soundwave. Even if they didn't market themselves as a Live/Candlebox band you can be sure the write ups regarding the events themselves would mention it for them. One way to get into the music press. Then they could do their own side show somewhere small like the East Brunswick Club (thinking purely in Melbourne terms here).
But after being to Bluesfest last month I can say that a Front Porch set would fit into that festival like a hand into glove, it's Taylor made. bad pun intended.
