Chad Taylor The Live stuff is not new material but some vaulted media that needs our attention before the TGF tour. Christmas time is coming and we really want a special package to offer our diehard fans.

I betcha either Ed's legal team got all over this as saying, Not w/o Mr EK's signature, or it might get worked on this summer......seems as if CT is doing that kind of work this summer.

OTD do ya mind getting an update from CT for those of us who wrote the letter? I know you don't want to abuse those connections, but you would be asking for all of us not just for yourself.

I don't know whether Ed would be what's stopping it (although it wouldn't surprise me). Didn't CT say awhile back that there were hold ups but they were exciting or positive or something?

I think Nick should ask, he's the one most interested in this, I mean he is a MASSIVE Live fan after all!

But it couldn't hurt for Bob or someone to put some feelers out and see where it is, even just knowing it's still on the cards is good enough of a response for me.

I still think that the potential Live reunion was tied to it. A sensible scenario to me would be like this:

-(part of) Live wants to release b-sides, but to do it with label and distribution so it will get the audience it deserves and probably to afford actually obtaining the b-sides, which is a huge hurdle in this case if we all understand it correctly.
-Label responds that they are all in if the band is willing to do a reunion tour in support of the release.
-Stuff about reuniting Live shows up but doesn't get anywhere for obvious reasons.
-Project is stuck in limbo and we all die without hearing "New City."

I can't imagine Ed blocking this release unless it means having to tour with Live again. It's money in the bank for him as long as the project actually makes money (which is what proper distribution would insure). I guess though it could get tied up in the area of royalties with Ed, but based on CT's positivity about the project I assumed that hurdle would be cleared. Maybe I was wrong.

I always figured that was just a really lame excuse for some other problem that blocked the release. With the way their past contract worked and who owns the recordings it may not really be "money in the bank" at all.
