Anyone who watches that show and has seen Ed perform can't possibly say Chris wasn't copying Ed. Everything that he did, aside from doing Walk the Line, was all Ed. His mannerisms, the way he stood, the way he held the mic, the way he looked at the camera. Hell he even wore eyeliner one night just like Ed used to. His copying of Ed could not BE more blatent. The only thing of Ed's that he couldn't copy was Ed's voice,which is why he is no longer on the show I would suspect. I liked him though. He had a cool voice even if it lacked range and he reminded me of a young Ed which is just never a bad thing.

The whole "controversy" of not giving Live credit is stupid. Not one of us knows what was said and what wasn't said on a heavily edited television show. Unless Chris is some kind of great musical arranger and was able to describe Live's performance of the song to the band exactly, then you know that he had to have referred them to Live's recording to even get close. Its the only explanation I see for how it could have been arranged almost exactly.

And he copied ed because he wore eyeliner? People in rock have been (and continue to) do that for many, many years. Ed copied someone too.

I'm not sure, but I thinkhis AI contract would make that impossible. I did hear they offered him the job, but I think he's locked up for one year by AI.

I read somewhere that he did actually credit Live the week he sang WTL but it was edited out of the show, thus creating the controversy...who know's, but it would be odd he would credit RHCP the week before and not Live.

On a more serious note - Carrie Underwood is HOT, as is Katherine McPhee - the Idol final should be these two mud wrestling instead of singing!
