With the huge differences in directions they took it would be interesting to see how the reunited Live unfolds if it ever happens.

This reminds me of my fave Russian band, Animal Jazz. They have always stated that they are playing metal pop music. Very pop melodies backed up by furious guitaring. That is what I love actually

Last time I remember Ed addressing the whole issue he said that he hadn't even heard TGF album. He was to busy with his own stuff.

yes but what about it

I would rather have more TGF than more Live.

Has CT even watched Ed's current performances of their songs? I have to think that he hasn't.

What if we still get TGF, and we get new Live that has an edge that is somewhere between Ed and TGF, and songs that aren't about God.

I was listening to the Foo Fighters on Howard Stern a couple of weeks ago and some things that Dave Grohl said were a real eye-opener for me. Musicians can go off and do side projects and get music out of their system and come back to their band and keep making music with the band. A band doesn't have to be like a monogamous marriage. Maybe Ed can get his Jesus music and 100% creative control out of his system in his solo work. CCP can get their freak on with Kevin in TGF. And the 4 of them can come together and collaborate on Live music that is better than anything we've seen from Live in 12 years. Wouldn't that be good?

It would be great Fish, really that would be optimal, but something tells me the prodigal boy doesn't want to return.....at least at this time......he's not interested.

Who knows. I just think that it would be exciting. I'd like to see it happen in about 2 or 3 years from now. An exciting new album and a tour. With at least one more TGF album and many tour dates before that, and followed by TGF going back into the studio and then doing another extended tour. Frankly, a Live reunion with a new album and world tour would help TGF.

Sorry, that line made me laugh Fish. What the heck do you think LIVE has been singing about all these years? It didn't just start with Ed's solo album.

I doubt the whole break up has been contrived to gain fans because, let's be honest - Ed's new fans plus TGF's new fans is still not much. Not worth the 'stunt', certainly.

I know. But I've now heard CCP playing behind lyrics about chicks, and the working man, and dead people - and I like it.

I liked the TDTH version of Ed's God better than the Alive version of Ed's God. And I think that Mental Jewelry is my favorite, and that album was really about Krishnamurti's philosophy of shedding oneself of all all conditioning and notions and apprehending the truth from a place of undefiled pure consciousness.

I don't think that the hiatus is contrived. Ed took too much of a character smear for that to be a gimick and it would be fraud on a court of law for a lawyer to file a suit based on a contrived set of false facts. I was just wondering out loud what the basis of Ed's Twitter post was when he said they were scheming. Maybe that was the phone call where Taylor confronted Ed about all of this secret contract stuff and, in typical Ed public persona fashion, he played it off as "oh, that silly Chad, we're always being so silly...". Who knows.

We can blame you. You said yourself that Chad came off really well when talking about TGF, Live, Ed, etc. in the rock invasion interview. Still hanging your hat on what he said during the Live split though. Get over it. Maybe Ed has. Maybe it never even affected him. He's admittedly oblivious to what is going on with TGF. Maybe it's that he's just happy doing what he is doing. The other 3 seem fine with that.

It's funny you mentioned Dave Grohl. Weren't Dave (and Lars Ulrich) the ones that had a deep talk with Chad early 00ies, about letting go or doing your own thing (or something along those lines), that in end helped Chad when they went from Live to TGF? (see the part of Chad's to be released book). If Live ever reunites, Dave was right and TGF/Ed-solo was the right thing to do.

btw, the new Foo Fighters album f#%$^%^&%$îng rocks! (but that has been mentioned more then once already smile.gif)
