First of all: what happened to this song? Ed said he was uninspired before recording Alive, and then met 'incredible new musicians' to record his album with.

But before that, Dirty Water, Lotus Flower came out. Listening back to it, it at least sounded somewhat creative and a bit interesting. Some called it electronic Hindoe-gospel or whatever, and it may have been a bit weird, but at that time I really thought was gonna make a very different album from what he had done with Live and started to understand why he wanted to do a solo album.

Too bad, the song was played one time on the radio and after it no body ever heard of it anymore.
I thought Ed's vocals on the start of the first verse were quite nice and strong. Also the combination of styles is interesting, if this demo would have been worked out further. Overall, the song is a bit too long and boring.

It's better than anything on Alive bar Zion.

I still don't like this song, but I would have given Ed a lot more props for making an album in this style or one that was solo acoustic. Something, anything different.

Viciously seconded.

I really do hope that his next record is acoustic. And without Ramy. I will definitely try and give it a spin.

Or not.

Zion, Grace and The Great Beyond. TGB - I give him props for trying something very different on that.

You're stating TGB sounds like all his other songs?

DWLF was a website only thing. Didn't he tear it off the site?

In the sense that it is void of the creativity that he's capable of, yes.

I don't get why he posted it on his site and on youtube just to rip it down.

This is the only video of the song I can find on Youtube (original song, not original footage):

I like the vocal compared to all of alive, I'd like to hear it with a guitar. I know Ed wrote it with one, as I don't think he could write music any other way. I'm so not a fan of electronic music.

yeah, it was part of the short 'Ed's angry voice revival' (with Helter Skelter, Purifier, Zion and DWLF). After that, well, Live officially broke up and Ed didnt feel to need to push his voice anymore.
The rest of the Alive story is history.

A question I have for you guys is what is it?

I can't think of another original song that was released on an artists website, explained by the artist, posted on youtube and then completely torn down everywhere.

In addition, it was written during the time he was writing for Alive, but it wasn't on the album.

Would you guys consider this a special release, promotional item, or even an Alive B-Side? I really don't know what it would be considered.

I also have a feeling that he might be looking to include it on whatever the next album is because of the tear down.
