You started the fight.....it's in your genes.

I appreciate you actually gave a story about the band and not charts & money.

We can co-exist, but I'll have my nunchucks flying!!!

How does someone who hates a band spend his days learning every detail of what said band does only to boost the rep of another guy with a band that he loves. Or is in love with? Really, I'm starting to wonder. huh.gif

He must be on Ed's payroll lol.gif

QUOTE(SJN1279 @ Apr 10 2011, 10:02 am) *

I met Ed in 2004 after the Hampton Beach show and he wasn't overally friendly, and was either on something weird(or just really drunk). It was a big letdown as a fan. At that show I actually met all 5 members of Live, and Pat was by far the friendliest(he has always been). Adam was very cool too. Chad G was quiet but nice and Chad Taylor was drunk off his butt.

I've met Ed about 6-7 times since that show, and he's always been very nice. So I gained respect for Ed and looked past the first meeting. Most importantly he has created some of the most amazing songs that I have ever heard, and IMHO is the best concert performer that I have ever seen.

My feelings is that Live is going to eventually get back together, and we will all have to coexist on the same plain again. All the fighting is pretty worthless. smile.gif

And that's fair enough, you had a bad experience, but then circumstances changed and so did your view. Why can you not afford the same respect towards CT with his change of view then? I imagine the man knows Ed and the situation at hand a great deal better than you, or any of us do. Instead you come out claiming the only reason he's changed his mind now is for financial gain. You base this on absolutely nothing. Yes it was an unexpected move by CT after what has happened. But that doesn't make it any less of an honest move.

I personally believe that the only way the four of them reunite is for a money making opportunity(and I believe it will happen). It is just my opinion.

Fair enough if it's your opinion. But that's a long way from it being the actual case or not. But as I say, what do you base this on? Remembering that not everyone values money as highly as you do. Nor are any of these guys exactly broke.
They have a life time of friendship behind them, surely you'd think that through the fight they'd want to patch it up.The financial gain would certainly be a bonus, don't think anyone can deny that. But just like you changed your mind, you have to entertain the notion that the guys can do the same.

Not that I'm advocating a Live reunion. I still think a Live reunion either purely for touring or writing under the way of the last 3 albums is not a good thing at all. But I won't begrudge CT for publically reaching out to Ed. Nor would I if Ed had done the same to CT first. Hell, I'd be pretty impressed. All jokes about Ed's greed aside, I have to believe the man isn't struggling for cash unless he really managed his money poorly when he was making a mint. So if Ed had reached out to CT even I wouldn't think it would actually be purely for cash (although the jokes would be funny).

Good question. Do you know he once rationalized Ed's behavior by saying (paraphrasing) we shouldn't be so critical of Ed or other musicians otherwise we'd have no one to follow (we'll find questionable behavior in all of them). Really, then why does that not apply to CT?

Well they wouldn't do it for free or to lose money, so you are partially right. I have to believe that they respect their history, the fans, and music in general to do it for more than just money.

I know I'm gonna regret this post, because both sides are giving me a headache. Anyways, the Musikfest cafe fits between 450-900.

Funny that Ed wasn't mentioned in the venue's kick off article here regarding the schedule:
