It's no secret that TGF is trying grow from small beginings. That one certain ill minded individual doesn't want people to see the truth. TGF is the truth when it comes to the aftermath of Live.

Be very skeptical of anything that said individual says about TGF.

Actually there were a few hundred people at the show. It was in NYC at 5pm with 103 degree temperatures. People were just spread out to the various shaded areas of the parking lot.

Pure rock-n-roll, right? Hiding in shade for a rock show starting noon.

QUOTE(SJN1279 @ Apr 9 2011, 10:16 pm) *

Ed isn't drawing Live level crowds in the US, but he is able to draw sufficiently to continue to tour. Which as a fan, is all I really care about.

What about him covering Live?

What about him riding the fame of the band he was once a part of?

What do you think his success would be if he sang only Alive songs?

Ed would gain more respect if he did just stick to his Alive/Solo material. At least to start things off. He'd be showing that he isn't trying to take the easy way. He'd show that he has more faith in his solo work. He'd show more respect to the legacy of Live by not getting second rate session players attempt the great work that CCP did with Live. (Even though the Live song TGF played got good reactions, it wasn't the same as having Ed sing it, they stopped doing so. Ed shows none of this respect).

But really, who needs artistic respect and integrity. Music is all about making money, right?

So this is ok for Ed but not TGF? I don't know why it is so impossible for you to extend the same consideration to them. We all know you don't like them but to continually hold them to a standard that you do not expect from Ed is just unreasonable.

How does someone who hates a band spend his days learning every detail of what said band does only to boost the rep of another guy with a band that he loves. Or is in love with? Really, I'm starting to wonder. huh.gif

I'm still waiting to hear back from Nick regarding my comment on why he is ripping on CT for the fact that he once ripped on Ed, but has now softened his views and seemingly had a change of heart. According to Nick this is apparently very suspecious and the only reason he is doing so is purely for financial gain. Yet it's perfectly fine for Nick to have once have had very negative things to say regarding Ed, but has since had a change of heart. More double standards.
I think if anyone should be granted grace for changing their mind it is someone like CT who is as close to the situation as anyone can get.

Once again, Nick can make up completely baseless facts as to why CT has changed his mind, so I'm going to keep doing the same. Nick still actually hates Ed, the only reason he's seemingly changed his mind and is mascarading as an Ed lover was to get the Admin duties of Ed's twitter, more notoriety. He is aware that Ed has a big 40yr old woman fan following and this is Nick's ticket in to getting some easy tail. This has to be the only reason.

But that is the issue. Ed thinks those Live songs are 100% his. He wrote them all. It is HIM. Except the drums grabbed me first in those Live songs which lead me to play drums. Well unless Ed played the drums for Live songs I'd like to thank CG. (and I did at TGF Toronto show smile.gif )

Fixed it for you.

I missed the part where he was actually replaced and was made the former.

Bottom line with anything from Live - I'll believe it when I see it.

Long live TGF!

I met Ed in 2004 after the Hampton Beach show and he wasn't overally friendly, and was either on something weird(or just really drunk). It was a big letdown as a fan. At that show I actually met all 5 members of Live, and Pat was by far the friendliest(he has always been). Adam was very cool too. Chad G was quiet but nice and Chad Taylor was drunk off his butt.

I've met Ed about 6-7 times since that show, and he's always been very nice. So I gained respect for Ed and looked past the first meeting. Most importantly he has created some of the most amazing songs that I have ever heard, and IMHO is the best concert performer that I have ever seen.

My feelings is that Live is going to eventually get back together, and we will all have to coexist on the same plain again. All the fighting is pretty worthless. smile.gif
