QUOTE(SJN1279 @ Apr 9 2011, 11:00 am) *

The last Live show in 2009 was sold out with tickets at roughly 40 dollars. TGF's HOB Anaheim show had a couple hundred people there with 10 dollar tickets.

The other Cali shows that closed TGF's tour had very low turnouts at cover band prices. If TGF built a solid touring following by the end of their tour, they wouldn't be opening for Cinder Road?! and trying to hook up with a bigger name act this summer.

They did get solid airplay with Appetite in the Mainstream Rock format, I will give them that.

And after all of that... So fucking what?? The point is TGF has the balls to go at it as a brand new band and build from the ground up. Ed is still clinging to lives success. Sure TGF originally planned to play a few Live songs but those plans changed. You can't possibly hold that against them. Your twisted view of just deciding that they stopped playing those songs due to bad fan reactions was a complete fuming LIE. You were just told from people at those shows the reactions were great. Hell you could tell from the bootlegs the reactions were great. So thanks for just completely fabricating stuff. Do you see why I posted in the other thread that these Ed shows in Brazil will be his last? And I KNOW for a FACT that they will be!!

I know I'm gonna regret this post, because both sides are giving me a headache. Anyways, the Musikfest cafe fits between 450-900.

Wait ... what?? you mean I was wrong? FUCK! ...Maybe then, maybe that means you could be wrong too!!
So my whole point was, stop presenting things as "facts" because you are often way past the mark of what the fact actually is. Saying that they stopped playing Live/Candlebox songs due to bad reactions is just WRONG.
I'm sorry you weren't able to pick up on the point I was making with Ed's final gig being a "fact".

Me thinks that venue is way smaller, you can fudge standing room capacity based on firecodes and this place isn't yet 100% completed on construction. I think the steelstax complex has had a soft opening dedication so far. So I hope to hear a crowd report on this show for whomever is going.

The capacity is over 1000 when you take the balcony in account. I don't know if Ed will sell out, but I expect a good crowd.

Actually there were a few hundred people at the show. It was in NYC at 5pm with 103 degree temperatures. People were just spread out to the various shaded areas of the parking lot.

Ed isn't drawing Live level crowds in the US, but he is able to draw sufficiently to continue to tour. Which as a fan, is all I really care about.

So you don't care about the quality of the music, the integrity of the artist or anything like that, well, that's a surprise lol.gif

I love how it's fine for Ed to not be drawing massive crowds, but if TGF aren't drawing massive crowds you believe it to be in damage control.
Ed not drawing massive crowds is funny because he's trying his hardest to ride the success of Live's coat tails and is a greedy bugger. He doesn't deserve big crowds and it's funny when he doesn't get them smile.gif

The whole issue of crowd sizes is not much to brag about in any situation. Both aren't drawing big numbers. But I at least have respect for TGF doing it the hard way and starting out from scratch. Ed, zero respect.
