Actually, they also played Lakini's Juice and Far Behind at their next 2 dates I believe. The one festival, and a show in LA.

Thanks for the clarification Aitkens, and those were not the official us tour dates mind you. They were warm up shows

And the original plan was to add White, Discussion and another Candlebox song I believe. They also wanted to play more obscure Live/Candlebox songs in concert.

Yeah that was discussed but never firmed up as I said, they wanted to break from any association of the old bands' and play all TGF material. On the bootlegs fans are screaming for Live or CB songs and KM would always interject that we're only playing TGF songs.

Next.

And when they realized that the fans didn't want to hear the other bands songs and ONLY wanted to hear TGF, that's when they stopped, and not because they sounded bad. I was there at the Fat Daddy's show, those 2 sounded amazing! As a Candlebox fan, I would rather have heard all TGF, unreleased TGF, or anything else they were in the process of working on more than any Candlebox or Live song.

You seem to pay a lot of attention to a band you don't even like....weird!

The Gracious Few initially tried to play Live/Candlebox songs, but the reaction from fans were underwhelming to their renditions. Either that made them stop, or other members of Candlebox did not like the idea of Kevin touring with their music.

TGF may have balls, but they played to mostly empty halls throughout their tour.

I've seen LIVE probably at least 15 times, I have seen TGF 3 times so far. The product that the TGF is currently putting out LIVE hasn't matched since the 90's. Ed and his pansy ass, coffee selling self can continue the solo act which I have ZERO interest in. I'd much rather see TGF continue to make music that Live reunite.

TGF played LIVE material for one or two shows and haven't since. Why does Ed still feel the need to play LIVE tunes in concert? Can't his new crap draw a crowd? Oh wait it can't.....

You're grasping at straws as usual. They were a brand new band on their first ever tour. They had some kinks in the beginning, sponsor issues, low turnout at some venues, etc. All to be expected. By the end of the tour they were playing to packed houses. This all transpired over only a few months. They built an incredible following and had some very good radio play happening at the time with Appetite. The show at House of Blues Anaheim had nearly as many people as the last Live show in 2009. Pretty impressive I'd say.

The last Live show in 2009 was sold out with tickets at roughly 40 dollars. TGF's HOB Anaheim show had a couple hundred people there with 10 dollar tickets.

The other Cali shows that closed TGF's tour had very low turnouts at cover band prices. If TGF built a solid touring following by the end of their tour, they wouldn't be opening for Cinder Road?! and trying to hook up with a bigger name act this summer.

They did get solid airplay with Appetite in the Mainstream Rock format, I will give them that.

Excerpt from a show review for TGF's show in Sacramento on 12/7/10:

The trappings of the headliners’ former fame could be found in the copious equipment at the sides of the stage and by the soundboard, as well as the very impressive tour bus parked out front.
While the bus and the rigs would have been fitting during their mid '90's heyday, the crowd (or lack thereof) was a not so subtle reminder that we are a LONG way removed from 1994.

Once again grasping at straws. Why do you even have time to fish for stuff about a band you despise? This reviewer sounds like you, comparing their draw to 1994 is ridiculous. We are a long way removed from 1994 and this band has nothing to do with what they did then. I was at the show in Anaheim and it drew nearly as much as the Live show I was at in 2009. I also understand the turnout at many other western shows was strong, San Diego, Colorado, and others. Are you suggesting that isn't true?

Kevin was sick and shouldnt have played this show with his voice so bad. Defied doctors orders to cancel shows. Anyway, that might be one of the only reviews not so positive on the tour. That review is kind of off base with some of the side banter. TGF didnt have a lot of equipment on their tour, only enough to fill a small 14 foot 2 axle truck.

Nick, all their shows were 10 dollars, what the fuck man? This was their choice and their first ever tour issues have been well documented by Taylor's blogs, why must you keep on that? Why? You feel the need
for love that this board gives you, or now the venom?

They're also trying to do things homegrown and get more exposure for their 'new band, playing original songs'. To you it's not your cup of tea. Riddle me this batman... why is Ed booking coffee shops and lounges for 40 dollars or more to play old Live songs? Care to answer. I think we've all touched on his marketing strategy. That will only last for so long.

You are dead wrong on your count. I was there and there were nearly as many people, if Live was sold out, then TGF was nearly sold out. I'm not sure the ticket price has that much to do with it. In any event, it was a very successful show. So was the San Diego show the night before from what I understand. I think they are friends with the guys in Cinder Road. They're looking for a bigger act to broaden their reach as far as their summer tour. I don't know how that is a negative.

I'm not even sure what your point is really other than to try to counter Ed's criticism with manufactured TGF criticism. Why don't you ever defend Ed? You meet every criticism with a ridiculous theory about TGF. If the Ed criticism is so wrong to you, why don't you just tell us how it is wrong instead of making these ridiculous points about TGF?

One other thing on this ridiculous review. If the 90's is the standard by which we are evaluating TGF, then let's evaluate Ed the same way. He's the one playing half of his show with 90's Live tunes. I'd say he's a long way removed from his 90's heyday based on his current shows. The funny thing is, you never see the double standard you use to criticize TGF.

It's hard to dispute this one iota. Nick will not respond, he'll regurgitate another rediculous arguement which he's been owned on several times over hoping the 'once in a while visitors' will not see his dung pile.
