It's a credit to CC&P for going into another direction as their musical tastes needed to be broken out and vetted to the masses.....well I hope it becomes the masses after a while. They are simply loving their new direction and many Live fans are still just finding out about TGF and saying wow!! Others are stuck in the past and want a legacy reunion.

Ed continuting the Live songs as he has been doing is what is keeping people coming. A good marketing plan that will ultimately fritter away. The FB post by CC&P shows people want a reunion with all 4. TGF is what we got after attempts to keep a band together for too long. Not sure it's a priority and it sounds as Ed doesn't need them.....he hasn't in 12 years so....let him piss it all down the rat hole.

Ed should stop playing Live songs and start only doing new material if he's a serious artist. Perhaps play 1-2 Live songs in his sets and break out as a real solo artist. If he dissapears into the Great Beyond, I won't miss him. I've not missed him for quite some time.

(and to steve's point above, that plan may or may not fail.....it's a SFBM trail, it may die on his next record, if he changes courses and sets the SFBM vein into something more progressive and rocking he may prolong his career)

I wonder how sucessful (not that I really thinks he is that sucessful now) Ed would be if he didn't play Live songs at all.

You think he's a has been now, if he wasn't clinging to those Live songs, he'd be a complete nobody.

That is an interesting point. Ed hasn't left Live behind like TGF have and is relying mainly on their songs when he does live shows. I don't even see how you can compare the success of either band to one another when Ed isn't doing what TGF is. TGF is like a brand new band coming from nowhere. Ed is still milking Live for all it's worth. It would be interesting to see how successful he would be if he actually had to the balls to try being a real solo artist and not relying on his old band's music. I'm quite certain we will never see the day that that will happen though as there wouldn't be any money in it for him. Sad.

The Gracious Few initially tried to play Live/Candlebox songs, but the reaction from fans were underwhelming to their renditions. Either that made them stop, or other members of Candlebox did not like the idea of Kevin touring with their music.

TGF may have balls, but they played to mostly empty halls throughout their tour.

Yes and that is my whole point. I'd rather see a band that has the balls to come out with something new and tour behind that music even if it means playing to small crowds than watch Ed rehash Live songs for the rest of his life.

I also find it interesting that you are commenting on the fan's reaction to TGF doing Live songs. It's funny I don't remember seeing you there when they did that.

I know for a fact that the fan reaction to Lakini's Juice and Far Behind was great at Fat Daddys.

Did TGF try to play Live songs (as in, plural), or only Lakini's Juice? Where can I hear/see any of these renditions, too. I know they did at least LJ, but I don't recall ever hearing it.

I wasn't there for the reaction to Live/Candlebox songs, but I'm sure it was positive. However fans online and Facebook complained a great deal about the covers. The question is why did they start out playing covers and then suddenly stop?

I would rather hear Ed play Live songs and new material. Why can't you have both?

I think people would be pissed if they went to see "Ed Kowalczyk from Live" and didn't hear a single Live song.

My TGF show had a better turnout then when Ed played there.

Once again you fail and fail big time. It wasn't the fan reaction from here stupid. It was TGF deciding to play their own tunes because they weren't about riding coattails of their old bands.

They only did Far Behind and Lakini's juice once at Fat Daddy's. Listen stop, your credibility is way less than zero. We'll continue beating your kindergarden ass to the curb in perpetuity.

They played to empty halls in locations in the south mostly. I think the East and Midwest shows were attended very well for the size of the clubs. THis is all you have to grab onto now.

What other shit are you going to manufacture? Keep bringing it out of the hole so we can keep on hammering you.

I see Ed got rid of his soul brother drummer and his brother got smart and joined on to another project. Perhaps Ramy and Adam were reading the tea leaves.

Actually, they also played Lakini's Juice and Far Behind at their next 2 dates I believe. The one festival, and a show in LA.
