Me either, if only he wasn't such an egomaniac. I don't see how that serves anyone, including himself. I think the decline in quality as the ego evolved is more than coincidental.

You know what the funny thing is.

The genius of Chris Cornell went even further. He released that r'n'b record. The legendary roar of grunge released an r'n'b record. And you know what... it sounded more rockier than SFBM-2 called Awake. And more than that his voice still sounds as it did in late 80s. A bit more low maybe... but his return to SOundgarden is so .. harmonius, balanced... call it whatever... Because in SG there always were and still are 4 personalities. And friends.

You've already pointed out all the reasons why Soundgarden/Chris has nothing to do with the fact that Ed's voice shit the bed. You can't expect it to come back. It is also spoiled to expect that Ed should be able to write what you consider to be respectable music. For whatever reason Ed has chosen his new direction, it would be difficult to say that it wasn't brought on by the fact that his voice has gone and he has daughters to face, and he's in his 30's and 40's.

I wasn't talking about Ed writing new music. I was talking about, if Live were to do more shows, that Ed could still pull off respectable performances of the old Live songs just as Cornell has been able to pull of excellent performances of old Soundgarden songs even after all these years.

Cornells voice hasn't gone. Why is it unrealistic to think that Ed might have a little gas left in the tank?

I am simply saying that this could be possible for Ed. I am not saying I know for certain.

That album was interesting. This is him doing an acoustic of one of the songs. That album would have been awesome if he had done them all like this. But can't gripe. He has earned the right to branch out and try different things.
