I also think Kevin and Sean are probably going to work with Candlebox at some point. That's probably where they make money.

they are lance. they are getting the candlebox EP ready and they are doing a few festival shows this summer. so that will be mixed in with the TGF slate.

I think the working multiple projects angle is a very effective tool for musicians these days.

Wasn't CT working on a book about the band? I bet we'll see a Live book tour of sorts, and that may correspond with the release of the b-sides album. It is possible to tour and not perform shows, you know.

Excellent post. The nice thing is Chad Taylor is believable. On the other hand, it's almost impossible to believe a word out of Ed's mouth. Everything he says sounds like it's to make an extra buck.

or an extra buck for charity

I was thinking the same thing, Cheers and Jason TOGETHER. It's too much.

Hold on a minute.........with a lawsuit still pending the guys reached out to Ed?

That is the million dollar question.

I would consider that the complaint could have been overzealous, or even be a stunt (!) if it is not pursued to completion. If it is still pending, then it seems reasonable that Ed would not respond to their calls, and not address what happened in Live.

Its probably best that Chad describe Ed in a very favorable light if he is trying to garner support for Live. I consider promotion for new Live material to be the main reason for the sudden allusions to a reunion or acceptance of Ed by Chad.

And that is all good with me, bring on the new Live material!

And there is no way Live exists without Ed. It could be great with another singer, but it would be something other than Live no matter what they want to call it.

Ed reforming with the band would be fine by me, even though I have serious doubts that new music and concerts with the reformed band would be exceptional. I'd say its worth it just in case Ed can transform or put out ANYTHING good.

Love the Live posts by Chad.

Maybe Ed wouldn't have been unresponsive to a Live reunion if he wasn't thrown under the bus publicly.

Live without Ed will be an epic fail.

this is also a distinct possibility

Sometimes things are left a little open-ended on purpose and this may be the case here. The door is at least cracked to allow Ed to return to LIVE, but I think we are still a few years away from that. I hope that I'm wrong, but I think Ed and TGF for that matter feel they have other ventures they need to satisfy.

I don't know, if its all promotional talk by Chad, its possible that CCP have no intention of playing with Ed again. On the other hand, if Ed apologized, paid up, and had good new material, I could see Live reforming on those merits. On one hand Chad might have kept the door closed, on the other Ed might always have been able to open it.

He won't understand that. He won't know what song that is, cause he obviously doesn't have a connection of any sort to when Live was a 4-person band. Now, on the other hand, if you had asked:

Does your love shine? Ohhhh Does your love shine? Do you think of gentle Jesus?

dude i hardly ever think about reputation on the board, but every time i try it says i have to spread it around first, you are f'n funny

Live getting back together would just be an attempted moneygrab for CCP. When they thought The Gracious Few was going to draw in crowds, they tore Ed apart publicly. Now since their tours weren't good financially, they are trying to push for a Live reunion tour.

After what was said, Ed has every right not to go back to Live. It is sad that CCP may kill the brand by going the new singer route.

thats possible.....though I think it would have to be different this time. The way Live broke up, the real fans would not respect CCP if they went back and were putting out light pop again. So even if its for the dough, I think they'd get more control with the art.

Im guessing CCP are aware that a new singer would probably not be able to fit the Live mold, and would be the last resort

I know Chad doesn't want there to be any ill-will toward Ed for pursuing his own music, but that's not the reason people are upset with him. There's no way Chad can put that cat back in the bag no matter how much positive spin he puts out or how many times to reach out to Ed they attempt. The guy fucked the rest of the band in the ass, and with them the majority of the Live-loyal fan-base.

Basically, as a Live fan I'm following their lead. If they can forgive and invite Ed back into the fold to pick up the torch they put down sometime in the year 2000 or so then so be it. If he doesn't care? Fuck him and long live TGF. That's the long and the short of it.

First of all, a big fat "no" to the idea that Ed definitely fucked the band. Secondly, a rampant misconception in the Live community is that it was Ed's choices that was the main reason for Live's music sucking. Anyone who thinks that a rock singer/songwriter should have the inherent ability or talent to put out more than 4 great albums is obtuse. If a rock artist can find the inspiration and physical ability (vocal chords), to keep running for more than 4 albums, bless em. Ed put himself out there until he would wring out every last drop after hundreds of shows. Animosity for Ed not being a supercharged and insightful rocker into his 30's a 40's is unwarranted.

Since it was his choice to abandon the group concept of collaboration and making music we'll never know. He continues to claim he is a supercharged and insightful rocker making music on par with what he did in the 90's. So I'd say the misconception is his, not the Live community.

I would be GOB... FUCKING... SMACKED if they reunited. I would then drop down dead if the music they produced was actually good, like, you know, they all worked on it together and it was like the old days or something.
