This post is really irritating me! I've seen the negative posts before and there's an apparent dislike for KM, why I can't figure out, but that said, because of this apparent dislike, why.....why even listen to an interview with the guy?

Being that Weiland and Stapp are very well known for their arrogance and all the problems they cause within their respective bands, I think that's reason enough to be spoken about that way.

This + a million.

You know, it was a question (asked by the DJ who was planning on interviewing Stapp) to a situation based on something that's happened and an opinion was renedered. Kevin's answer draws some parallels to our band, and it hits was too close to Nick's golden goose.

I think Kevin's a straight shooter and gave logical, sensical answers. Nick, I think your summation is a 2nd grade assessment and that's a stretch. For those who want to render their own opinion.

http://www.mediafire.com/?ysw777w2vem1pwr

Ed Lover's....flame away at me if you must but I am not going stand for this shit from the peanut gallery!!

I am getting out the heavy artillery!!!

Kevin was putting out some straight forward logical answers. There was the irony of the parallel to some peoples opinion of Live. Still, its kinda harsh for these guys to chat about how big of an asshole Stapp is on the radio. It sounded like the guy lost control. Kevin agreed that he could have easily become a huge asshole himself, and that his own guitarist was an asshole. So even though Kevin's was an equal opportunity basher and is kinda saying that shit happens, its still a little bit of a dick move to pick on Stapp like that. It sounds like he dreads what hes been though and probably just wants to move on.

On the other hand, its great to hear that TGF will have at least an EP coming out.

unless km is singing "you" from 20 years ago i see no point in listening to him.

You really should like Ed then, he plays songs from 20yrs ago because it's all anyone likes from him! You said you're not an Ed lover, you're not a TGF lover clearly. So why are you here?

-Short interview in which Kevin Martin rips apart Scott Weiland and Scott Stapp for no real reason while throwing his former guitar player under the bus.

-New Candlebox album in April. Possible TGF EP this summer and full length album maybe by the end of the year.

1st you rip CT,CG and PD and now you mess with KM??
Barry asked Kevin a question, he answered it!
he didnt RIP either Scott, he simply told the truth about some Messed up lead singers..
TRUTH hurts no??

stay over in your sandbox and out of ours!!

the difference is its songs from ed as opposed to song from km. im here because i loved live and i am hoping either ed or tgf make a good album at some point. also, my past love for both i would go see both in concert if they come to my area.

You are hoping that they make an album you think is good. I happen to think TGF's debut is quite good.

If you want to hear him sing "You" make sure you go see Candlebox live because they are great.

Also, as for the guitarist thing, was KM talking about the guitarist from his solo band? If so, it happens. When you have guys in bands who steal money, ruin the band with their drug habits, or start boning people's wives then what else can you say about them really?

I get the "political correctness" angle but if you don't realize that KM doesn't give a damn about that at this point then there's nothing we can do for you. You don't like it, but I love that he speaks his mind and doesn't hold anything back. That's what rock musicians should do. Given the number of fans he has garnered over the years I'm guessing that I'm not the only one. That's where the passion for songs like "You" "Closer" and "Appetite" come from.

Now, if he were stealing money, ruining a band with drug habits, or boning people's wives then I might have something to say about it, but I think the rest if just petty.

Bri...Aren't you the guy who said that you've seen Live 40 times ? Which means you certainly must have traveled to do so. You must live in Montana because ed & TGF have played in most parts of the country....you state if they come to my area?

I don't see what the problem is with what he said. Stapp is the reason Creed broke up. Alter Bridge is a million times better than Creed anyway, I'm sure that is tearing Stapp up. I'm not sure that last summer's Creed reunion was a failure or whatever KM said but Tremonti and the rest of those guys never intended for the Creed reunion to be permanent. They did that while Myles spent the summer touring with Slash.

Weiland ruined STP as well. I think KM was just giving an industry perspective. He's seen a LOT of stuff over the years.

I'm still a big fan of Ed's as well as TGF, but even I will admit.......both the STP and Creed stories sound an awful lot like what happened with Live. I think Ed will realize one day how much damage he caused.

More of Creed story to my money here.

Weren't Creed one of the few bigger bands to actually namecheck Live as an inspiration? Don't recall too many other bands that brought Live up as a major influence.

Dunno 'bout Creed. Lifehouse for sure. They always said their music is a modernised mixture of Live and Pearl Jam

If I remember correctly Creed counted themselves as big Christians and apparently identified that with Live's music. (which is ironic based on old Live compared to the later Live). Maybe I'm thinking of someone else, but I'm sure it's Creed.

Stapp was the big Christian, or at least he did pose as one. Sounds like someone else we know of. Anyway, Stapp's ego got in the way of the band, and thank god for that. Alter Bridge is light years better, and Myles Kennedy has one hell of a voice.

I beleive this is true. I've heard this mentioned that they listed Live as an influence. Below wiki excerpt states a blub regarding their style.

My Own Prison was met with mostly favorable reviews. Stephen Thomas Erlewine from Allmusic gave it four out of five stars and said that Creed "work well within their boundaries" despite "basically [falling] into the category of post-Seattle bands who temper their grunge with a dose of Live
