From what I understand these festival shows pay pretty well with all expenses paid, so they bear no real expense to the band. It's a win win situation, why not do a few one off shows to make some money.

I think Candlebox doing a few shows here and there has no bearing whatsoever on the future of The Gracious Few or Live.

Kevin said from the very beginning that there would be some Candlebox dates and an EP this year, but TGF is the focus for the next 2 1/2 years at least and hopefully longer!

Why would Candlebox have radio fulfillment contracts if they are on an independent label and have no current songs released to radio?

Your understanding of the music business is impeccable.

You know, I didn't look at who started this thread, and I was pretty excited because I thought Candlebox and TGF would be doing some dates together. At least re-title the thread to what it's content really is.

Festival dates (which are what they are playing) are often tied to contracts with radio stations. They sponsor the events and put together the line-ups. Often those contracts are put together years in advance for established bands (Candlebox commits to playing a festival in 2009, 2011, etc). It has zilch to do with having singles on the radio.

In the case of Candlebox, the band isn't broken up so why not do a few festival shows? TGF is already booking some summer festivals and I believe the two bands even played the same festival at least once back in the Fall.

Dan, could you change the title of this thread? It is incredibly misleading.

hey guys, don't worry about Nick!

Daft, pointless and irritating as usual -

he's picked on everything TGF since they formed: the band members, the lead singer, the sound, the band name, the BILLBOARD (haha), the tour schedule, the choice of track released for radio as a single!

What next? No matching eye-color? clothing?

Please guy, grow a pair.

I expect the response I always get from Nick - him responding to another poster. I mean, if someone is going to challenge me on something then they should at least acknowledge that I gave them some insight into the biz right?

At this point I answer his questions solely for the benefit of everyone else in case they would like the information, because it's fascinating stuff.
