God you idiots are letting this pussy get the better of you. He's such a small little bitch, a gym teacher who lives in his father's shadow. Let him keep talking to himself.

Looks to me like you're right that Nick said stuff that he couldn't back up, as did you by saying that hardly anybody knows Ed Kowalczyk, and that even a lot of people that loved 90's grunge and alternative would probably not know him by name today. Seeing as how you claim to go by facts, which facts and standards do you use to prove something like that?

Well there wouldn't be a way to actually prove something like that, but do you honestly think Ed's name comes up when fans of that era talk about the stars. You don't think Eddie Vedder, Layne Staley, Chris Cornell, Kurt Cobain, Scott Weilend, Billie Joe Armstrong, Anthony Keidis, Billy Corigan, Trent Reznor, even Gavin Rossdale hold more fame than Ed? I mean I personally prefered Ed to all these guys especially up til 2000. But he's not even close to being in any of their leagues. Those are the individuals that people remember, sorry, not Ed.

They played to small crowds all the way through. Their show in NYC in November was canceled due to low ticket sales, and they had to join a different show with other bands. Their show at the small Stone Pony in NJ was moved to the very tiny Wonder Bar(also in November).

They played Sacramento the last week of their tour to maybe a 1/3 full house:

This despite charging about the same ticket price as most local coverbands.

Nick, like you know why the show was moved to wonderbar, I do and that wasn't the reason. Please stop before trip on the rug with that knife. Slow time of year when you start whipping the shit storm up,yet again this year.

Ed's name probably does not come up as much as the other names you've mentioned despite Ed being on the radio everyday. You and I both preferred Ed, why contest the mainstream's consciousness amounts to something?

I wasn't saying his lack of mainstream's consciousness amounted to anything. Nick said about how no one really knows who TGF is, so I just brought up that it's the same case for Ed.

And I personally think Ed could have been in that category. But he chose to take Live into a different direction. Being lesser known doesn't always mean less talent either, I just know he's not a guy that gets brought up a lot when there are discussions of rock stars of the 90's. That being said MJ-TDTH were 4 masterpieces, it's ashame they are for the most part constantly overlooked by the public, besides some love for TC.

I noticed that each member of Live has a link now to their own personal page.

I thought I would shed some light on their Facebook page. If this has already been mentioned I apologize. I am late for something and didn't have time to read through all the pages of the thread.

There were a lot of people posting on their Facebook page that were actually fans of 2 Live Crew. That is what prompted the initial status update about posting on the Facebook page of the wrong band etc.

All the Live fans, including myself, did not know about the 2 Live Crew fans (when you turn off commenting I guess it hides all the previous comments) and that is why all the Live fans got so angry. They thought Live was talking to Live fans. Confused yet?

Full disclosure, I am the guy that posted about the backstage passes (first page of this thread). I did not realize it and made a hasty post which I later deleted (not fast enough since you guys grabbed it 23 minutes after!). I later made a post on the same status update towards the end trying to explain to all the angry fans what had happened after I discovered the 2 Live Crew fans posts. You see, on the internet you could not see them but on my iPhone I could see PAGE after PAGE of 2 Live Crew fans that had posted on Lives page.

Also, CT was kind enough to send me a message and even offered to buy me a beer. Needless to say I apologized for my original post and thanked him for responding to a fan....although I still want to know what to do with these passes tongue.gif

I think he offered you to buy you a beer as a fair shake. That's better than backstage passes.

Indeed he did. And it would absolutely be a fair shake and an honor. He was very gracious (no pun intended) in his response to me and I probably didn't deserve it considering how I jumped the gun on my initial comment. I met him before at a show at HOB in Dallas and he was incredibly kind then as well. All the band members were.

Sadly it may be some time before I can take him up on that beer. I can't remember that last time they were in my area (Oklahoma City) and I usually have to drive to Dallas to see a concert. I have two little ones so driving to Dallas won't be an option for a while. However, it is probably me that should be buying him a beer.

They have once again removed Ed from the members of Live on Live's Facebook page. This whole situation is getting comical.
