Ok, figured it out - go to the input tab above and tick 'Advanced'

Still the same problem. There is no 'burn' to click but there is 'build' which I think is the same as burn. Is the Audio T_S suppose to be empty?

Yes, the AUDIO_TS folder is supposed to be empty (you can probably delete it altogether but some DVD players require it to be present).

The button (with the folder>arrow>disc pic) is actually labelled 'Build' when you hover over it with the mouse cursor. It remains greyed-out until you insert a blank disc...

Well I've done everything everyone told me to do. It is still the same result. Won't play on the computer but will play on a normal DVD player on my TV. I think the problem is with the file after I extract them from those multiple RAR files. Because if that file won't play on the computer then nothing that I burn from that folder will play on the computer even after I burn the folder to a blank DVD.

Can you post the original versions of chapter 11 and 12. I'll try extracting the whole RAR files using the 2 original ones. You know the one that did not have the Stand chapter on them. See what happens.

Very strange - if it plays as a normal DVD on your TV, I can't see why it shouldn't at least play in Windows Media Player by selecting Play > DVD, VCD or CD Audio > [CD Drive].

Anyway, enjoy it on your TV - that's what it's meant for smile.gif

Anyone else have any issues with it playing on their computer?...

I just tried on Windows Media Player. I can play it only if I click on the chapters and titles on the right side. I cannot command the DVD menu by clicking on the options of the screen. It seems the problem is only with the DVD menu on the screen when I play it on the computer. Menu works fine on a normal DVD player.

Do you have VLC installed? Get the latest version from:
http://www.videolan.org/vlc/

Once you've installed VLC, navigate to the DVD folder on your hard drive using Windows Explorer.

Then, right click on the "video_ts" folder and select "Play with VLC Media Player".

VLC will then show the main menu and you'll be able to skip to tracks, view the bonus material etc. etc.

I always play everything with VLC so VLC was the first player that I tried it with. It's main DVD menu that is causing the problems. I click on the menu options over and over again with all the DVD's that burned as well as the original Video T_S folder and the menu wouldn't operate anything. Windows Media Player actually lists all the different chapters separately from the DVD on the right hand corner and I can operate the chapters and bonuses from the track lists on Windows Media Player but this is not operating or selecting the chapters from the DVD screen. Nothing on the screen will work if I click on them. VLC doesn't have a separate track lists or title lists on the VLC player so I have to click on the video player screen's menu but of course nothing will happen. So any menu options on the screen will not work it doesn't matter what player I use or what burned DVD I play or what folder I use. No problem playing the screen menus on my LG DVD player though. This is indeed very strange. I like to play music DVDs on my computer as the sound system is better than my TV speakers.

I manage to find the list of the DVD titles and chapters on the VLC player options on the top but nothing happens when I click on any chapter or any title. This is done from the 'Playback' option on VLC and then clicking on 'Navigation'. It takes me to 2 titles. Title 1 with 29 chapters and Title 2 with 2 chapters. Windows Media Player will play those chapters from the 2 titles if operated from the player but not from the video menu screen. VLC will not play anything. I always thought VLC can play anything but this time WM Player beats VLC. I can watch this DVD on WM player now. I just have to operate through the chapters and not be able to watch the slide show. I'll have to watch the slide show on my LG DVD player. Anyway thank you to all who have tried to solve this problem and thanks for this great DVD.

I just finished downloading the DVD (inc. updated versions of parts 11 and 12) and experienced no issues playing the DVD with VLC media player.

Here are some screen shots of the menu that I accessed through VLC.

I can play the video files using VLC or Windows Media Player only if I open the Video T_S folder and play the break down files. The main concert is broken down into 4 separate files. The bonus is broken down to 2 separate files for the 2 songs. However if I click the files with 2 menus they won't play at all. Not even the picture of those 2 menus. If I right click on Video T_S folder and try to play Video T_S folder with the VLC player all I get is the first menu which is pictured above. And the menu doesn't work so it won't take me to the concert or the video clip bonus or the second song list menu. I tried this with 3 different computers. I even tried extracting the Rar files using a different computer but it's all the same result. Now I am thinking it is a problem with the downloading.

Quit clicking on individual files, you're not going to be able to play the DVD that way. A DVD is not a single file. A DVD disc works using multiple files that operate together to create the seamless navigation/video playback experience.

When you double click an individual file it will only play that file. That file will not have any working navigation links or will just be t.he video (if the file was a .vob).

If you open VLC (unless something has changed since I last used it) and simply drag the Video_TS folder into the VLC Player window it should start playing back in full DVD mode. Basically the player has to know that you want to play back a full DVD folder and not just an individual file.

It is not a problem with the download. If there was a problem winrar would be unable to extract the files. That's one of the advantages of winrar, in that you're ensured the download is complete if extraction succeeds.

I thought I was having similar issues, with not being able to get it to play in VLC. I would get the main screen to open, but the dvd wouldn't play. I was trying to use the mouse and click on the menu options and it wouldn't work....when I simply scrolled down using arrows and then hit enter it worked fine. I feel stupid that it took that long to figure that out.

However I can't burn a DVD that works. Is there a IMGburn version for mac? I tried a program call DVD imager...that gave me a .img file.

I tried burning that and tried it in a dvd player and it said it would not play this disc. I then tried it in my PS3, and it told PAL playback was not capable. Is my problem that I am creating the wrong file type or is it a region issue.

I also just downloaded the MTV unplugged and had no issues getting that one to play on my TV.

Ridley, you do some amazing work!! Thanks for everything...I'm looking forward to downloading some of the other stuff you have up!!

The built in DVD burning app on your Mac is fine. But if you want to try another application, try
"Burn". It's free and there's even a video tutorial on how to burn a video_ts folder.

There's no region locking on home made videos. It could be a PAL/NTSC issue though. Your PS3 and DVD player don't seem to like PAL videos. Probably a hardware issue.

Which version did you download? I believe there was a PAL and a 'patched' NTSC version made available.

Dan, thanks for the help and the quick response...you always go out of your way to be helpful.

I actually found a program, Express Burn that let me create the .iso file and was then able to burn the DVD.

I downloaded the original MTV unplugged version.

You are right, it is simply the PAL/NTSC issue. We had a crappy liteon brand DVD player that we literally just got rid of because the door stopped opening. We upgraded to a sony blu-ray player. Apparently liteon was PAL friendly and Sony isn't (as it won't play on either the blu-ray or the PS3). I just tried both the unplugged and enmore DVD's in my girlfriend's grandfather's tv/dvd combo and they both played.

Thanks again for your help.

LOL yeah using the arrows on the computer keyboard allows the menus to work by hitting the enter button. Never happened like this before to any video file. I feel silly too to not figure this out. Thanks for helping out!

Mouse.....bad.
Keyboard.......goooooood! LOL
