He sounds happy again and that is gr8 the only thing i dont get is how little money that they have i know it would cost a heap to tour and organize merchandice and cd's to sell paying crew and all but didnt they make a fortune with Live and still getting royaltys for Live you would of thaught that the would have enough to keep themselves afloat.
P.S I cant spell hehehe

No doubt the band members are financially secure, but the feeling I get is that they want TGF to stand alone and be profitable in its own right and not have to rely on their personal funds.

i can fully understand and respect that but you would think by reading chads blogs that to relieve some stress maybe putting some funds in would not be a bad idea and might make the tour more fun and less stressfull but i have no idea how that side of things work maybe someone could shed some light on the matter.
Just my opinion if i had money and was stressed for a new project of mine and belived in it i would put my hand in my pocket to fund it. But as i said have no idea how it works shrug.gif

Cheers Dan about the firefox thing will half to start useing it i think smile.gif

I have a feeling that none of the band members (except maybe Sean?) are drawing any kind of salary from TGF at this point. So, the tour funds were to fund the tour and pay road crew, sound guy, etc. I imagine the situation is different for each member, so its hard for them to want to put in more money when they aren't getting anything back personally YET.

I also assume they paid for the album out of pocket too, which was probably not fun.

Like I said though, I think there is a little dramatic embellishment here. smile.gif Any band in serious financial trouble wouldn't be able to foot the bill for a vinyl release and distribution. Just my 2 cents.

Mate, you are absolutely right. The for certain are not the kindergarten kids and all have pretty sums on their accounts. I know it is very expensive to do what they do but i have no doubt they are funding it themselves

I think CT might be selling the drama a little bit here. I am sure there is some dramatic license and hyperbole going on here. He's working the Social Media angle to get more visibility.

I'll tell you one thing. With the iPhone app, facebook posts, twitter, website, blogs, sponsors, promotions, youtube promotion, free itunes song of the week, free mp3 downloads, $10 ticket prices, record store acoustic performances, open taping policy, open camera policy, making good on $20 pre-sale benefits, vinyl record, Homespun give-aways, and Friends of Live email promotion - you have to say one thing for sure. These guys are working their tales off for this project. They are putting their all into it. They are passionate about this project. They have a genuine friendship and a love for this music. They are proud of it. And they believe in it.

If you can't get behind this project and love them for that effort alone, then you never belonged on a Live fan message board in the first place.

Here's my plan for their future. Get on a tour as an opening act for band that is huge right now. Play tons of dates around their home base. And get on the Howard Stern show.

I think they should tour with Halestorm, they are from York and have recently made it pretty big. I know at least one band member has expressed interest in this and I think it would be a great move on TGF's part. Play shows around their home base with another band that got it's start there and then take in national. I'm sure their fanbases would be similiar as I am a fan of both bands. I'd love to see it happen!

I think Halestorm would be more of co-headlining tour, but it would make for an interesting match.

They need to get on with someone like the Foo Fighters, but so many major label touring slots are left up to the label that it would be pretty hard to make happen.

Foos, who are releasing a record in a month or Lynyrd Skynyrd, to a more bluesy extent
