Who is to say that Ed will take them back? They publicly ripped him pretty viciously, and he has been able to make a living since the split. Maybe Ed won't be so forgiving(at least not right away?)

I gotta be honest, I think the financial stuff from the tour is pretty fascinating but I don't think the whole story is being told. I think a lot of it is being used for dramatic effect. Know why?

No band that is simply bleeding money would do a vinyl re-release of their album. Making a vinyl is fucking EXPENSIVE.

The two things just don't match up.

Why shouldn't they have after he screwed them privately?

For all the reasons that Chad keeps saying they shouldn't have......and, of course, assuming Ed was unfair.

Wow. This is all very interesting. Personally I would hate to see Live get back together. That is done as far as I'm concerned and it's time to move on. I don't know how there could possibly be any going back after all of the things that were said and done. I mean forgiving is one thing but getting back in the band that made you miserable for the past several years and supposedly squashed your passion, etc, etc just seems wrong to me. I can't imagine any circumstance where I would actually want to hear any new Live music unless everyone collaborated. That being said, I really don't think Ed has it in him anymore to make good music with the rest of the guys. I really don't! I'd rather just have TGF go on and see what happens. That band has evoked things in me that I thought were long past dead as far as music goes. I would hate to see them throw it all away to go back to something that is so totally lackluster. no.gif

This sentence makes no sense. Shouldn't it be less certain since he only said "probably"?

Arcade Fire weren't jerks back then, I don't know about now.

When people say probably, it could mean that it is quite probable, or it can assure that something is not a certainty. So I was suggesting that we read the word "probably" in context. And I think the surrounding commentary suggests the probability of attempting to reach Ed seem more likely to happen than not. Or he could have been using the word probably to describe the potential way to get in touch with Ed, such as using the phone, and wasn't even commenting on the certainty of reaching him. But even if he is using the word probably to mean that it is certain he will try to reach Ed, he could just be talking out of his butt. We'll see.

I personally believe CCP need Ed more than they would like to admit.

Why? Gracey is independently wealthy with his other company, right? Aren't they all pretty well off from touring for 20 years? I don't think they need him to get some steam in the music industry as we've seen TGF up on the charts somewhat. And my opinion is they don't need Ed in order for CCP to be part of some decent songs either.

We don't know what those words mean, sounds to me - all press speak and tgf is and will be priority.

Right. I guess when Chad initiates the possibility of Live and Ed together, two days in a row, you can't help but consider what would happen if Live were back together, and how that relates to everything else he's said, and all the problems that go along with a reunion.

Maybe hes just saying this because he needs Ed to be seen in a favorable light again in order to sell some Live stuff.

Didn't Ed have to put his house up for sale....

I'm wondering if he sold the house because his third kid is on the way.

I don't think you really know anything about Ed's financial situation, he hasn't been as forthcoming as the TGF guys. He has one more person in his band, I assume a crew that was just as large as TGF's, and I don't recall many reports of sellout shows.

Unlike TGF, Ed can tour solo with a guitar and his touring manager. He also had very well attended tours in Europe and Australia and posted a lot of sell outs last year.

Both NY shows for Open Wings Broken Strings in March will likely sell out by showtime.

His band has 5 members just like TGF, but he doesn't have to give equal splits as they are his backing band.

Or he was protecting his assets with a lawsuit pending(I have no insider knowledge, just something commonly done).

Obviously Ed is the reason that Gracey's company is successful. And Ed obviously only allowed CCP to become wealthy off his rockin voice. The whole fuckin' planet revolves around Ed's false-etto, including the success of CCP. Didn't you know that?
