Ed and Chad meeting in July? This year? 2011, are you serious? Never expected this after all the shit that came out last year.

In the end, there IS hope... huh.gif

What are you thoughts on Ed perhaps trying to mend fences with CCP?

Funky raises a good point. Your opinion must have change.

All I care about is new TGF music, which looks to be on the horizon.

I'm with ya on this OTD. Nothing but TGF for me. I'm very leery of a reunion this early. Is there any proof that Ed has changed, that he's even concilliatory? Are we guaranteed that CCP will have control, will be able to songwrite? I want to know what all the hardcore, vocal TGF fans think about this. You know who you are-not any of the fence riding bandwagoners on this board. The hardcore TGF'ers who went to the shows, bought gear, spread the word. My concern is that a reunion so early, kills the passion and hunger that showed prominently on the TGF debut album. I also believe jumping back and forth from one project to another can create two mediocre projects. I know all the Ed lovers will disagree. Just ask yourself why all the Ed lovers are clamoring for the reunion. Because Ed is done! Ed needs this reunion way more than than CCP. What is Ed going to do-put out Alive II? I will repeat, Ed needs this reunion way more than CCP! TGF's star is rising and I want to ride that wave till it crashes. Look, TGF gave me back my youth. I'm way to old to get it back again. My theory is the reunion should hold off as long as the duration of crappy music Ed wrote for Live-say 10 years?

If I heard correctly, Chad is the one who will approach Ed concerning Live in July. If I heard the Rockline interview correctly, The Gracious Few lost their money guarantees on this last tour and had to support a 10 men crew on the road.

I personally believe CCP need Ed more than they would like to admit.

I stand by my quote. You hear what you want to hear, I'll hear what I want to hear. The future is bright for TGF, no so for Ed. If we must look at this scenario through dollar signs (which you always wish to do) my guess is that neither acts got rich off of their individual projects. So, as you state, if the reunion is merely for financial reasons then I could not be more turned off by the idea. Of course, this is my opinion.

Why don't you go wrap your dick in a hundred dollar bill and fuck it, ok? Since you seem to be so hung up on money. And if you're lucky maybe Andrew Jackson will give you a blowjob at the same time.

Ed's career is pretty much in the pipe in the floor under the toilet. Yes, that pipe.

I'm assuming you are including me in this because I like Ed's music since I think Nick and I are the only two who posted in this thread that are fans of Ed. They reason why I'm "clamoring" for a Live reunion is because Live is my favorite band of all time. So, why wouldn't I? I prefer Live to both Ed solo or TGF, as I personally think that neither of the two projects compare to Live's music.

As for who needs who more? Honestly, I really don't care. Maybe all 4 want to end Live the right way. They all grew up together and have been friends for a long time. They might feel they still have some unfinished business. Maybe they enjoy the emotion of the thousands of Live fans singing to They Stood Up For Love, Lightning Crashes, or any other Live songs that they spent all their hard work crafting Sometimes you don't realize you how much you miss something until it's gone. As cliche as that statement is, it's true. Or maybe it's only about money. Only they know for sure.

Anyways, it's far from a guarantee that Live gets back together. If they still decide it's all over, then that's it...they have had a great run, giving me great music, concerts, and memories that will last forever. I'll still follow both projects, but I hope that Live comes back in some capacity even if it's only concerts as no band has given me so much enjoyment and emotions like Live has. And that is why I'm "clamoring" for a Live reunion.

Btw, CT said he was meeting with Ed in July...wouldn't that be 2 years since they announced their 2 year hiatus?

hey, where did you hear about this?

Edit: nevermind I see it was part of the Rockline interview.... this shit is unbelievable. the summons is as good as non-existent. Chad says he is going to talk with Ed, even though he's tried in the past and Ed wouldn't return his calls, in July of course, because they're just in a 2 year hiatus. Why would he think Ed is still considering a 2 year hiatus after CCP has tried to destroy Ed's reputation. If they reunite then CCP are no longer screwed by Ed. I don't see how this could work out well. Ed would have to rock again. I doubt Chad Gracey is going back behind the glass.

Chad Taylor:

...that doesn't mean that there won't be more Live music in the future. Our agreement with each other was that we were going to take a two year hiatus, and i think that comes up in about July, and i think around that time that we should probably get back on the phone and start to talk with each about how we're gonna make music, or if we're gonna make music, or what we should do.

What i'm trying to explain to everybody is its just, ya know, Ed, our singer in the band was my best friend since kindergarten, and to be really fair, you know, we were probably just driving each other nuts. I know i was driving him up a wall, it was working equally the same. Some of the stuff that's out there is sort of, some of its true, and some of it was made much worse that what it was. And i know for me, if there was any lesson its that, man, is that social media is really instant. Theres probably...there needs to be a button on things like Facebook and all that, thats like truly unsend, or "Do you really wanna put that out?" And the only thing i can say to you is for Ed and I, ya know, we never had a combative relationship in any way shape or form. In fact, i would probably say in our 20 plus years of being a band had never really even had a real argument, or a real fight, i mean other than that, surrounding the passion of the band.

I'll take my hard knocks and just say that it went below what we would consider our normal standard of behavior, and now we're all prepared to be men and face up to whatever was in the past...

And maybe the catchup will be about the track listing or credits/royalties artwork for the churchbox/session album....

I think the absolute worst thing that could come out of this whole thing would be for Live to reform and Ed has them play a song from Alive on tour. I dont think much more in this whole live downfall/breakup could depress me more than hearing CCP playing Grace. If that happens then we know Ed has them by the balls. Hopefully not... Surely not.
