Ha. I just can't imagine being in a band and being ok with performing the same setlist night after night, year after year. As performers, don't they want to switch things up a bit?

QUOTE(SJN1279 @ May 9 2006, 8:35 am) *

A song you haven't performed in over 5 years?! I'm sure it is very easy to forget. Taylor was practicing the song(he said so in a journal entry), Ed went in cold.

So we should forgive Ed for being horribly unprepared? Fuck that. I can go years without hearing 2Pac's "California Love" and still know every fucking word to it. And I didn't write that song. Ed should have been better prepared to play that song.

Like I said, Taylor never had a problem with it so why should Ed have had a problem with it?
I mean honestly, who in the world can't remember the words to their own song .. little slip ups here and there are natural .. but honestly.

Maybe Ed remembered and just wanted to make it comedic. Lots of singers do that.

U2 has got to be one the worst attempts at a band ever. One the most over-rated.

I was also at the Atlanta show, and this was probably the best of the 8 times I have seen them. They played for almost 2 hours, and if Ed did forget any words on Iris, I did not notice and this is one of my favorites. Rattlesnake was incredible! Chad Taylor was in awesome form and Ed sounded great! If you want to bust on Ed for occasionally forgetting a lyric, then don't go see one of the greatest shows ever, instead go see Bono sing from his teleprompter or go listen to that hip-hop shit you were crowing about.

I'm by no means a huge rap or hip-hop fan, but to call 2Pac's music garbage is showing some pretty extreme (musical) ignorance. His lyrics and voice reflect an entire portion of America in a way that is far beyond what Live, and pretty much any other rock band still around, ever could. The impact and influence of his music has reverberated on society to an extent that only a very small handful of musicians (possibly Elvis, The Beatles, The Ramones and other early punk bands) have. It's a shame that you make a blanket statement about him based on an entire genre of music that you obviously don't like (and probably have no understanding of).
