My god with each comment this person just comes off more moronic. It's laughable. But thank you maccaz, I need all the laughs I can get these days.

Kevin Martin admits he doesnt like his voice...most artists DONT like their voice

Sad thing is we know that Ed likes his voice a little too much, which is why I think he is constantly punching above his weight and thinking he's better than he is. As I said earlier, Ed's range is limited, but when he's in that range my god he's good. He just hasn't been going there for the 10yrs now though.

I know what Maccaz69 means (god please be actually born in 69 and not just adding that as a number, do people still do that?). But I don't think you're giving KM enough credit. KM's voice doesn't have as much melody as Ed's. It's not as "pretty" as Ed's for lack of a better term. He sings rock music. He doesn't hold notes as well as Ed. It's even in the album, not many words on the album are elongated. the word "Sing" in the chorus to "Sing" is one of the few examples where he does. He knows what he can and can't do. Show the strengths, hide the weaknesses.
He has a damn powerful voice. Someone (maybe funky?) brought up once before about how there is very little over dubbing in the actual album's recording to make his voice sound more powerful which is true.

They're different sorts of singers now days. The difference being as I've said is KM knows his limits, Ed doesn't. When Ed try's "oooo'ing" it's just not right. He sang how he should naturally sound in the 90s because he didn't know any better. Once he decided he was a rockstar and experimented more it got out of hand and he just fancies himself greater than he is.

"he is personable, friendly, gracious and the best frontman for this project HANDS DOWN!"

Forgot quality talent was no longer required my mistake.

And regarding the later comment on range I don't know if you have any experience in the field or whether your a novice but I don't know what music ur listening to. He is absolute mono tone he didn't struggle through lakini's juice because it was too low he just has one weak note and we're used to better than that. No artist will blame the song for being too low anyway because any decent band will lift or drop a key to suit the lead. He doesn't sing from the diaphram anyway so he is never going to belt out the lyric regardless and is always going to get lost in anything but quiet moments.

I'm sorry I hope CCP take off and are successful because I want double the music that live gave us but TGF will not be that vehicle.

Who knows maybe ed will run out of riffs & tgf want to upgrade vocals & they can do an album remotely without meeting.....ah who am i kidding?!!

If you think Kevin Martin is "monotone" then you just aren't listening, and the rest of what you wrote isn't even worth responding to.

I listened to Ed butcher his own songs for 10 years with his "great" voice. I stand by my statements.

If his voice was so terrible, why would you continue to listen for 10 years?

Up until 2004, I kept holding out hope that he would get his balls back and knock the shit off. I stopped going to see the band in concert because it never happened. I'd download the new cds, and further be disgusted.

I kept listening because I wanted to hear what CT, CG, and PD would do with the music. The lead singer isn't the only important person in a band.

Wrapped up in the grapevine

We’re gonna raise it

Bound and tied

We’re gonna break it

Hold your breath

We’re gonna face it

You’re going down, yeah we’re gonna turn it up loud

Don't know really...something in a topic sticks to me and I try the hyperbole angle. The shit stirrer angle too. Thinking how this thread has turned into lyricist comparison on singing, heck....sounds like some are out to slight the mighty TGF!!! And for what, trying to compare the present to the past? One singer can sing this note over the other. I feel the lyrics of the Few are most appropriate.......

I know they don't care how people judge them, or try to compare them to Live or Candlebox, shit...this is a whole new baby band, a mighty powerful one. They got balls.

Many Live fans seem to be out of the loop on TGF from reading their new poster comments on facebook. Guess they really went out to lunch like me for a few years as I said enough of the Ed show. New folks every day discovering them........i mentioned this for a long time while I was skewered from the Ed camp on being over rambuncious.

Time's passed and both acts are doing what they want and this is a good thing. No one really knows how much I wanted C & C & P to branch out alone and do something else.

I don't need a Live reunion to try to recapture something that's probably never going to ever able to be felt again....it was lightning in a bottle and we have our memories and recordings to prove that.

I am a move on type of guy. Accept reality, accept your pain, learn, grow.....move on.

Glad the boys decided to do this. So happy that CAG & PD caged CT and started this......very happy for Kevin Martin being brought into the fold. Hennesey is simply a diamond in the rough. He is the hot fudge on the sundae!!

I am ok with other people's opinions, as long as they make sense. I can agree to disagree.

TGF is going to be around as long as they can make it work financially. If the crowds get bigger then (and they have grown) they wont have to worry. It's a slow simmer moving up to a medium simmer....hope the momentum continues....and this is due to the folks around the world who are doing what they can to get TGF known. They are being commended for their grassroots approach, (the billboard thing in NYC and other shout outs from media types). Appetite is being played on US radio and hit #1 in some markets (mine). If people do a little locally, it helps them globally.

Ok end of OTD rant. thumbsup.gif

I wonder if you laughed as hard as I did when I heard tgf lakinis juice?!?!?!!! If anyone's moronic its the person who could actually listen through that whole song and proceed to boast about km's voice notwithstanding he was destroying any credibility that band has...or had.

Go listen to the rockin park version of overcome on youtube and tell me km comes anything remotely close and then i'll know you only hear what you want to hear. This was only filmed a few yrs ago so I don't know where the hell the 10 yrs is coming from??!?!!

heres the link i think

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ypMBzEREk2k

And as for the 69 my car is a 1969 model hope that clarifies!

No, clearly you're still clueless as well as an idiot. Ed from 1995 gave KM a run for his money. Ed since 2000 is a complete joke.
