I'm pretty sure that Ed can sing the majority of Live material extremely well. wink.gif

In the states TGF are playing to crowd sizes under 100 a lot of nights. Ed is probably performing to an average of a 200/300 in the US. If Live reforms after a hiatus they will fill halls of 1500/2000. That alone makes it worthwhile for the band to reform(even if it is only on a part-time basis).

Not saying that doesn't make sense, but they wont do it for nostalgia sake. If for financial reasons they have to then, you have to make ends meet. I think the next us tour will have them be undercard then be headline for another leg of a tour. The stuff is getting noticed simply by the long stay Appetite is having on the radio. More people are discovering them and are liking it.

QUOTE(Existentialist @ Jan 21 2011, 10:36 pm) *

Not for me. The last three written by Ed were so abysmal that LIVE became a joke even after having the most epic first four albums possible. Even if Ed were to straighten himself out and make a complete 180 by allowing CCP to write the music, his voice these days is crappy anyway. It's still technically good at times and could be on a recording with countless tries to get it right, but there's no passion anymore because his voice is old. LIVE is done.

Yeah, but I can't believe that IF there would be a new Live album EVER made, it just can't be anything like the last 3 albums. After the break-up, CCP have admitted more then once how they thought about Live last 10 years. So if they are oke with cooporating in a new Live album, they will do thing different. No doubt about it. The bigger doubt is, if they want to work on such an album anyway.

Apart from this, I think the only sign that things are going straight again, is when both the CCP and Ed post messages to their fans on the FB page, as the fans that come on there were fans of all of them, not only CCP. Adding Ed back on vocals again and adding that old school picture is a start tho.

Yes, but once again you are forgetting that not everyone plays music for the fame and packed crowds. That isn't what its about. I would imagine all of these guys have made enough money with their careers to not do it for the money anyway. And if, God forbid, they ever get back together for the reasons you suggest, you won't find me anywhere near this place supporting these guys anymore.

For what its worth, and I haven't followed Ed to see how his turnout has been, the TGF tour seemed to pick up a lot of steam as it went along. It started as maybe 100 fans but by the end of it the crowds were larger, probably due to the success of Appetite. Ed's crowds grew while Grace was getting substantial airplay too.

As for the page, I think this is probably a way to promote the upcoming Holiday Gift. I imagine pulling it together was a lot of work, so good for them. All Live fans deserve to hear it!

They just updated their profile picture to an old school band pic.

I for one would love to see a reunion in 2012. As a Live fan, to see the guys back together for shows would be awesome. One more Live album would be a dream come true as well.

Unless it follows the progression of BOP, V, SFBM!

Those Ed statistics are just slightly embelished (but then again look at the source).

As a Live fan, first and foremost, I wouldn't read too much into this. I saw the original message when it was first posted and looked at their FB wall which had a lot of spam on it and I think that's what Chad T? was referring to. As for putting Ed back as the singer, well to me Live will always be Ed, Chad, Chad, and Pat so unless CCP are planning on going on tour or making a new album using the Live name with a new singer...Live will ONLY be those 4 and Live ended their 20 year run with only those 4, I personally (although I'm sure many may disagree) still see Live as E, C, C, and P not C, C, P, and ?.

There would be nothing more that I would like to see than a Live reunion, but I don't see it happening anytime soon. Hopefully I'm wrong as you never know. I wouldn't be surprised if they go on tour again to end this the right way, but not now. By the way, even if Live got back together that wouldn't mean TGF is no more or Ed couldn't still make solo albums...many artists work on several projects.

No, I don't think so. I saw Ed solo twice... once at Starland in NJ where there were over 1,000 people (Live always had a great following there) and once at the TLA in Philly and I would guess between 400-500 people (of course, I'm not very good at estimating). I'm also sure he played to crowds where there were only 75-150 people there. So, that average could be very accurate.

If CT, CG & Pat toured again with Ed as Live I wouldn't mind. I just wouldn't want them to record a new album together...especially with Ed writing the lyrics....no thank you!

Most Ed shows that I saw were over the 300 mark. A good chunk were between 500-1000. I also heard that some shows were in the 100 range.

200-300 range may actually be a bit low, but it is the size of the venues he should be playing solo acoustic.
