Checked out Live's official Facebook page today and saw this post:

-LIVE This is the OFFICIAL page of the ROCK BAND LIVE. For those of you that are confused and obviously writing to someone else please go and find the appropriate artist. Thanks.

-Also they disabled the ability to post on their wall, unless it is in response to a comment.

-Lastly, Ed Kowalczyk is once again listed under vocals.

Just thought it was interesting....

I doubt it means anything. Personally, I think Ed might have interest in getting LIVE back together some day, but I think it's less likely TGF would. It has nothing to do with Ed's or TGF's popularity, but with control of the music. Ed had his own way with LIVE and solo, but CCP are free only with TGF, and much better for it. LIVE was awesome, but it's done.

Wouldn't it make the most sense for Live, The Gracious Few, and Ed solo to all exist? That way the band can once again tour as Live, but still pursue other projects?

Great comment from a Live fan:

This WAS the OFFICIAL page of the ROCK BAND LIVE. For those of you that are confused, you are not alone. We will now use this page to promote solo projects until the cash runs low and we realize how fucking stupid we are being and reunite. Thanks.

Here's another comment:

Dear "official" page of LIVE. How about you guys communicate to me what I am supposed to do with these backstage passes I won and also what I get with the fan club two year membership that I bought about a week before the band broke up. And... what about the holiday gifts I am supposed to get with said membership? Why don't you guys get a freaking clue instead of spamming about TGF then getting pissed when people post about them on this "official" page of LIVE. What a joke. It has always been a joke. Let's not forget this is the "official" page of LIVE that told us to pre-order Ed's album only to find out that a few weeks later the album came out on iTunes with BONUS tracks and you had to REBUY the ENTIRE album to get TWO tracks.

Fair dinkum this escalated quickly!

Some of those comments are spot on - It's a longshot in 2011 but 2012 is not an unreasonable time for these guys to re-form. They would keep tgf and ek solo for in-between records - similar to the alterbridge creed Myles Kennedy solo arrangement.

But I think they should post a response to the folks with passes, memberships etc.

Some interesting comments eh?

Perhaps in order to give the fans the next holiday gift, it had to be okay'd by all 4. Hence the changes.
I expect to still see tgf and ed doing their own thing for the forseeable future.

I would take this as a sign that the guys who own the name Live are finally put it out to pasture. This could mean an even firmer commitment to TGF, maybe from Kevin and Sean, or the end of the lawsuit against Ed.

Who knows? I am in the camp who doesn't want Live to get back together, and from the attitude of both parties it doesn't seem they do either.

They just updated their profile picture to an old school band pic.

I for one would love to see a reunion in 2012. As a Live fan, to see the guys back together for shows would be awesome. One more Live album would be a dream come true as well.

Not for me. The last three written by Ed were so abysmal that LIVE became a joke even after having the most epic first four albums possible. Even if Ed were to straighten himself out and make a complete 180 by allowing CCP to write the music, his voice these days is crappy anyway. It's still technically good at times and could be on a recording with countless tries to get it right, but there's no passion anymore because his voice is old. LIVE is done.

When Hell Freezes over. Maybe it will, maybe not. TGF will be around folks. I saw the pic change. CT did say he will keep it a living breathing entity.

Not sure Ed can sing the notes the boys want to play. It would be foolish to reform for nostalgia unless there is a full commitment to what existed over 10 years ago......so look what all this talking got us baby!!!

I'm pretty sure that Ed can sing the majority of Live material extremely well. wink.gif

In the states TGF are playing to crowd sizes under 100 a lot of nights. Ed is probably performing to an average of a 200/300 in the US. If Live reforms after a hiatus they will fill halls of 1500/2000. That alone makes it worthwhile for the band to reform(even if it is only on a part-time basis).

If CT, CG & Pat toured again with Ed as Live I wouldn't mind. I just wouldn't want them to record a new album together...especially with Ed writing the lyrics....no thank you! I don't think they would ever tour together again anyway. I am really liking TGF. I don't want to see that end.
