God is trying to get rid of the worst of us in Queensland so it's all good!

No seriously it does suck though, I don't know if any of us on the board are from up there? Family? It's Very north.. Surprised something on this scale hasn't happened sooner with all the heavy rain they get up there each season. sad.gif

Born n raised in Sydney West I recently moved to Bundaberg from Toowoomba QLD My friends in Toowoomba are fine but half the town here was under water, most roads were closed and a few of my friends lost homes - and many businesses went under too.

To put it in perspective; you know underground parking at shopping centers ? In the main centre here it was full of water and flooded up into the complex!

And a bridge I went fishing on (which I hate) is now 20 feet under water! But I'm ok, and so are the majority of ppls. Thanks again to this community for even thinkin of us!

Where is Jonesy? Is he still up in the NT?

I saw some lady talking on the news about this mudslide that basically just ruined her house in about 10mins. The solid earth had come up to the top of her mantle piece about the fire place ... that would just absolutely devestate you, like a fire to be fine one minute and in the space of 10mins your entire life has just changed.

Not sure bout Jonesy - I gotta say I dont know him that well - it just started pouring rain again Here after a weekend of sunshine! Great! ....worst rainfall in 50 years they say. I have a friend in Dalby Qld who has been shut in his house for the last week!

Good luck Liveman. Def been thinking of everyone up there. Just crazy. We've had minor flooding here this past winter/spring and that was bad enough. Can't imagine homes being under water like the images I've seen. And then you have the heat. Argh the humidity would be enough to do me in.
