Music video isn't really necessary for a successful single.

I do not know whether this has generated any album sales but Appetite is doing quite well in the charts and better than Honest Man. I think that it is time to release a more mainstream / commercial sing as a third single and this is, IMO, Tredecim.

They were in process of filming a video for it, but I'm not sure the status. When I saw them in concert, there were cameras shooting them their performance on stage and I think they did that at a bunch of other shows...probably for a compilation. Of course, that was in October and nothings been released yet.

Oke, thanks for the info, didnt know that. I hope that a video will appear in the end, although it probably will be just consist of live footage.

Dunno if Tredecim would be more meanstream, but it would make a good single for sure. I would love to hear the world this awesome track !

Perhaps mainstream is the wrong word. But i think it is more radio friendly, catchy and memorable than Appetite and Honest Man.

If they want something more radio friendly it'd have to be The Rest Of You, right?

Aside from the already mentioned songs, Silly Thing is catchy as well, I think!

I certainly don't think Tredecim is more memorable than either song you mentioned. I think it's quite the ooposite actually. Appetite is a memorable song as you have on this album. It has that classic hard driven Zeppelin feel to it and it definately sticks in your head like glue.

I think offering up another hard driving tune would definately make people take notice of this record. If a softer song?? Definately Crying Time. TROY and Silly Thing are definately songs I don't want them to release. I don't think they fit with this record or with the bands sound. They both remind me of BOP type Live songs and I don't want to go back there. Every single time I hear Silly Thing start up, I honestly think Ed is going to start singing. I can definately hear 100% Live influence in those two songs, and not in a good way at all. I find that neither song has any redeeming quality to it whatsoever.

I agree with Ed, Crying Time and Sing I think would be more radio friendly and maybe even get played on the dredded Top 40 station. But once that happens they will take off for sure

TGF is definitely known for the heavier rock songs but I think one of the slower or pop-ish songs would give the listener a different "look" at this band and it would broaden their diversity with new listeners. It's not like there is only one token slow or pop song on the record. With TROY, Sing, Silly Thing, What's Wrong and Crying Time, I think it's beneficial to expose this side as well.

As radio singles, I could easily see TROY or Crying Time being successful and crossing over. The others, not as much for radio - maybe Silly Thing but I still don't see that as being quite as strong. I LOVE Sing as well, but again, I just don't hear it being quite hooky enough for radio.

It's a polarizing song but I even think that Guilty Fever, while being on the heavier side, still presents a new side of the band with the falsetto vocal, that a song like Closer doesn't.

The more the band can get their sound into new ears, the better chance they have of taking things up a level and thriving as a band.
