Your opinion only....surely doesn't make it a bad show in the least. In my opinion, anybody who watches a show one time and judges it one way or another, is in the vast majority of utter retards. But hey, that's just my opinion!

I dunno, this is one I wouldn't back down on I have'nt just watched it one time, that was someone else in this thread that said that, not me, i've seen it on and off because when you turn the TV on you can't get away from it. I'd protest to it not just on a "it's not my thing" level, but on the level that it's just a poor show.
To me 2 and a Half Men is comedy for the lowest common denominator. It reeks of reading from the script acting where they constantly pause for the audience to "insert laugh at joke here" without the charm of the way some shows have done it like Married with Children or Sienfeld. The fat kid is completely insufferable and such an unlikable little shit. I guess I can't get off on comedy presented in a sitcom style where someone is written to have every single line come out of their mouth be laughed at. They aren't even funny people, other great comedies have the people in the show able to make people laugh outside of the show they're famous for. Sheen is a much better dramatic actor than he is at comedy.

But then again I seem to be in the vast minority when thinking this because this show just won't die and people seem to love it. But then again like I said it was aimed at a lowest common denominator, look at the top 40 music charts as well, the majority of people eat that shit up which I think this show is the TV equivelant of. In the end, people suck.
On a similar comedy note, for the aussies here .. I can't stand Hamish and Andy.

yeh hamish and andy piss me off more because they get to act like goofs and get paid so well for it. Thats my problem i guess. if i talked at work they way they do, i'd be harassed and abused and then ostracized, then likey fired and regarded as a bum. but hey. they do make me laugh occasionaly though. stupid pricks

I remember seeing them on TV not too long ago on some show and it was all advertised as "whoa those whacky cooky lads Hamish and Andy are coming up next, tune in to see what crazy hijinx they'll be getting up to!!" ... turns out they were literally knick knocking on people's doors and then hiding around the corner. I guess you're right in a way Wam, Hamish and Andy could be replaced with a couple of 10 year old kids and nobody would notice (except their girlfriends who go to jail for child sex) but they're so popular and paid so well to not be incredibly clever or funny. But again what do I know, people love these 2 ... they love how Hamish is the crazy off the wall one who ... I dunno, cream pies into people's faces, while Andy brings the more verbal humour telling Knock Knock jokes.

Hamish & Andy - I think they are a case of they are so unfunny that they are funny. Hamish is the annoying one out of them I think. Sometimes he comes out with really funny shit but most of the time it's pathetic. They were replaying their Perth gig this afternoon and he was going on about his anchor tatt and how he had 'T H' put in front of it so now it also says 'thanka' and I was thinking, now you need to put a 'W' beside it and you can also be 'wanka'.

I don't know, "wanka" might be a bit too much for these guys. Safer that they just prank call people and ask them if their refrigerator is running ... that sounds something much more their type. I pretty much agree with everything here. I'd also like to throw in that the fat maid isn't funny and is just there to say the obvious jokes that are supposed to be SHOCKING because she's all fat and shit. I'm not saying it never makes me laugh at all or it should be cancelled, but I do think it's unintelligent and obvious. As you say - lowest common denominator.

And importantly, Sheen is NOT a naturally comedic actor. He just isn't.

Everything said and done on that show just seems that it was done exactly how it was written down on paper for them. I just can't help how aware I am that they're people who have been memorising lines rather than characters. Even other comedy things that Sheen has done like Hot Shots, that was funny because of everyone else.

Dude, listen to your reasoning there, you really don't see the problem with it?? People will find another weapon, so what's the difference?? Meaning that makes guns ok in some warped way?? Knives have nothing to do with it. Getting rid of knives has nothing to do with gun death consequences.

Guns are unnecessary period. So people will die with guns and knives, does that make a more powerful or more leathal weapon than those socially acceptable??

one thing ive surmised from media saturation of American popular culture is, you dont fuck with the constitution, so we may as well let that shit go. Guns are not ok i agree, they were invented for no other reason than to kill, be it for game or war. I have no interest in them and i have been broken in to a number of times, one of them quite violently, and i still have no desire to own a gun. fuck guns. Im not an American citizen so i have no real right to say this, but i think the government should focus as much, if not more, attention on anti-gun ads as smoking ones. "Kids, dont do guns". "Guns Kill". "Guns harm unborn babies". Get that shit branded on every gun like they do on cigarette packets here. Though i gotta admit that doesnt stop people smoking. Fuck people.

Again, all true. I'd also throw a show like Everybody Loves Raymond towards the same category. Easy humour, obvious jokes... etc.

Nah, you can still cut up your steak. In this state all knives (including a steak knife!) are illegal UNLESS you have a legal use for them like cutting up your steak or for work.....like a butcher.

Is he still around? God he is annoying. I can barely understand him with all the stuttering...not that I have anything against anyone that stutters but give him a job on radio or tv??? I don't get it.

I do have friends that are very close friends with him though and they are great people and obviously see something in him!

Do you know how much that kid on 2 1/2 men earns??! US$375,000 per episode! I think I read it works out to around US$3 mil a year! I can't stand the kid's father. He's a crap character.
