i think nick should be allowed to make the kind of comment he did without a wave of abuse and intimidation. his call was fair and the same jives were and are made about edward. As a listener of both acts, all i can say is the proof is in the pudding: TGF is the real deal. Its Rock and Roll. The other one is just scripture posing as light-hearted pop; easy to listen to and inoffensive. We all know who is better. It shouldn't incite any emotions.

I think the issue was that the whole thing had seemed dead, no one who dislikes Ed now is causing grief and vice versa. It's more about his intention behind making comments like that, just to be a shit stirring little ass.

Well, the reviewer should add a little water in his wine. Don't get me wrong : I like TGF.
But I really doubt they totally outshined a band like The Sick Puppies. They have great songs too and are amazing live performers. They also are pretty skilled musicians.

I'd go for a TGF/SP co-headlining tour for sure !! yay.gif

It was actually a pretty lame review, since the reviewer didn't even bother to review the other bands on the bill. If you look at the reviewer's Facebook page, you will see he is friends with members of TGF. That is probably why.

Nick,
Just because he is a FRIEND on FB doesn't make them a FRIEND in real life!
You know I stay away from favortisim here..and I wont say anything bad about either projects but there is no need to start shit about some review...no need for you even to respond to it if you don't like TGF.
my .02 cents
peace

That was my point from the beginning. I'm sure that TGF played a good set, but to dismiss all the other bands on the bill made the review biased and unprofessional.

Who the hell cares? The review was about TGF, not about other bands. God damnit you're grasping at straws here. This guy obviously likes TGF and enjoyed the gig so he wrote about it, he wrote about them. If he didn't mention the other bands but just tore TGF into the ground for being bad I'm sure you wouldn't have a problem there with it being unprofessional. Reviews aren't supposed to be always be completely down the line unbias, you see something you have an opinion on it (positive of negative) and you write about it to convince others to see your way and your account of things. The same has happend with Ed .. hell even though I dont agree with positive Ed reviews because I don't think he deserves them, saying this is a bad review is like saying so many of Ed's are bad reviews because of all the factual errors that are made. The one just from the Sydney show about how he burst on stage with his first song being All Over You when it wasn't the opening song ... I doubt you'd call that a bad review because he got his facts wrong, when in actual fact that is a worse review than this because whilst it is opinion as to whether you enjoyed the band or not, it is fact as to what songs were played in what order.

back on ignore, im happy smile.gif

I just pointed at the review was biased, maybe I shouldn't have.

Given the direction that this thread has taken, I think that is pretty clear.

I am all for free speech, but you knew what would happen if you made that comment and you did it anyway. Things have been much nicer around here recently, and I don't think anyone is talking trash on the EK boards any longer either. Just let it be.

Oh, and guess what, EVERY article or review is biased in some way. That's the media.

Completely and totally agree. Sick Puppies were awesome. Doing a cover of "Say My Name" took balls and it rocked rockin.gif

I would pay good money to see a TGF/SP show
