I will just comment on the Ed part of the show.

Ed played longer than the other two in the show. I don't remember the set list. But MAN is Ed awesome in this acoustic format. He sounded AMAZING. For most of the show, he had a stunningly attractive female playing percussion. She sat on something like a wooden box and played this thing - I don't even know how it worked. It sounded like much more of an instrument than it looked.

For me, the highlight was Pain Lies on the Riverside. It had a slower tempo, with a great bongo-like beat coming from the percussions. If I closed my eyes, I could have thought I was in 1991. Ed sang that song like an angel. It was just amazing. His voice sounds amazing. The new stuff sounded great acoustically. I really loved The Great Beyond. That was one of the best songs of the set.

Ed is such a great performer. Leigh and Art sounded great and did a nice job. But Ed was the whole show. Frankly, there was no comparison between Ed and the other two. He put 100% into it. He interacted with the crowd. Lots of talking and jokes back and forth. Very personal.

I got a ton of great pictures. Stay tuned.

P.S. The Grand holds about 1200 and there were only about a 100 people there. That was unfortunate, bt did add to the feeling like you were seeing something special and intimate. The Phillies NLCS game probably had something to do with that too. Heck, I was torn, but I Ed won out. All of the performers did a meet and greet and signed stuff for everyone after the show. But I ran across the street to a bar to watch the 8th and 9th inning of the Phillies game.

Interesting drum.....

link to girl playing cajon drum. If you go about 3/4 way through, she actually plays it. The first part is her demonstrating information on the drum in general.

That's the instrument. That might even be the girl who played with Ed.
