QUOTE(Deku @ Oct 1 2010, 6:30 am) *

Yeah totally. Just a band broadening their horizons for themselves, for the fans. They wouldn't have had all that style make-over shit either. I wonder if the fat cats told ed to grow his hair?

Haha, never thought about it. If that would be the case, that would be really wrong and makes the V-makeover thing even more rediculous.
However, I think Ed explained it by his wife wanting it.

QUOTE(Merica @ Sep 30 2010, 5:24 pm) *

The biggest and most important difference in my opinion, irrespective of the content of the album, would have been its purpose, and how the audience was told to interpret it. It wouldn't have been HEY HERE'S AN ALBUM THAT COUNTS FOR US AND WE LOVE THE FUCK OUT OF EVERYTHING ABOUT IT, DON'T YOU? It would have been "hey, here's a little something different, off the fly, a quick little experiment, not really a proper studio album. Thoughts?"

World of difference.

You are probably 100% correct and fans probably would have reacted a little differently to it. I also wonder if any of the songs or the album would have been different. But we will likely never know.

No, No, No, No and No. It wouldn't be perfect. It would be a total mismatch.

I think this needs to be amended. The Ed Kowalczyk of today would be a total mismatch. The Ed Kowalczyk of Throwing Copper? Not so much. But as we all know... that Ed was taken behind a woodshed and shot to death by the false-etto Ed of today.

I believe I've said the same thing in the past. It was when he went on his peyote trip in the desert to write TDTH. He was abducted and switched with a hip thrusting falsetto singing version of himself.

No one here thinks so... but I think "The Distance" was a terrible song and could really have been the point where he was abducted. Falsetto Ed doesn't have the balls to kill old Ed.

The Distance on the album is an awesome song, The Distance in basically any live performance ever is not.

Not as far as Ed is concerned, his voice live just can't replicate what it did in the studio on the track. The deeper parts sure but he's very rarely hit that "spread your wings and fly" note in many recordings i've heard or gigs I've been to, and really to me that's a make it or break it part of the song. Sure the band performs well and it IS a good song, fine lyrics and all, but not performed well live by Ed.

That whole show was great! Chad was a guitar madman that night and I believe they had Railo on the keyboards. The song sucked on the album though. Sofia sucked on the album too but it was made moderately better about the time that Forever was released.

My god I sound like a Live nerd lol... nervous.gif

I haven't checked back in a long time because I got tired of the pettiness, but I would love to hear some good old fashioned lost, classic Live. smile.gif Did any of this ever get released?
