I hate in a way to post this as it might take viewers away from that indepth interview I posted above. However, the title to this article made me sad as I first read it. When I got down to the article, however, I realized that the author wasn't really concerned too much about the demise of Live as she was interested in the rise of the new band, TGF. She lists their full tour at the end of her article.

I didn't post the entire article as it contains the typical "Ed's a bad guy" approach and then lead into the "what's happening with TGF" part of the article. I don't want to put up anything negative about Ed as I support him, too and I don't want any flame wars to start up. I like the peaceful nature of this board the way it's been lately. You can read her two paragraphs on Ed if you access the link below. Here's the part on TGF. I liked her assessment of "they make a killer supergroup rock band".

The Fall of LIVE and Rise of The Gracious Few

So what’s happening now? Chad reached out to his friend Kevin Martin (vocalist for Candlebox) to start a side project called The Gracious Few. Appropriate name right, at least I thought so? Chad told Martin that he was no longer interested in playing guitar solos, which lead to the poaching of Candlebox guitarist Sean Hennesy. The Gracious Few released their self-titled debut album on September 14, 2010. They are doing some extensive touring in the US promoting their self-titled debut.

From what I listened to on YouTube, they make a killer supergroup rock band. Don’t expect them to sound like LIVE since the swap of lead vocals and guitar nor sounding like Candlebox. Check out the video for “Honest Man” below:

Honest Man video and complete tour schedule published at this point.

Holy shit, I love this band

When you go through the bullshit you have been offered for ages with finding yourself, band for the working class, or some mega modern self-taught prodigies on guitars.... you understand that you have been beeing fucked-up through your life with the media and image the bands have created.

And now we have a REAL band of REAL men ho do not say: HA! We are real, but who simply do this every day.

Feels like it is the first time in my life I can say that about the musicians.

And damn, I love it.

Feels good to be The GRacious Few.

Releasing acoustic EP in February? Sweeeeet! kicking.gif

Man - C'mon. We've had people on here posting and acting like they were members of Live before when they weren't. Once it went on for a few weeks before there was an actual IP address check to prove it was a fraud. Sorry guys if I was a little skeptical that it was one of you tools again. lol.gif

Kevin - I wasn't so much doubting it was you, it was more believing that some people here are that crazy! whistle.gif

As far as arguing over the meaning of the lyrics with Kevin - that totally was not me. Maybe one of you guys?

Side Note: I'd like to point out that I've been the fan most referenced directly or indirectly by this band! kicking.gif . It's actually pretty cool and I'm somewhat honored that they've taken so much notice of my posts on this board. I've got to meet these guys and introduce myself in person when I get a chance to get out to a show.

EP in February! New album next summer! If it's anything like the first one we'll all be The Greatful Few!

In talking with Sean last night, he indicated they'd be hitting Europe in February/Spring as well, with a follow-up US tour next summer. Also said they were constantly writing and recording ideas, everyone contributing ideas and trying stuff out. yahoo.gif

It's amazing how hard the media and internet rips Ed. And I thought we were the only ones who ripped that guy.

Definitely sounds like a far cry from what the guys were experiencing while "under Ed". Thank goodness they were able to break free from that and let their creative energies flow without that negative influence.

I agree. It is surprising.

I am also surprised, well not really so, pleased for TGF that they seem to be picking up more and more interviews, reviews, articles, etc. Their coverage initially was fairly low, but it seems that has been changing. Maybe word is getting out as they continue their tour, that they are a band worth seeing/following.

Definitely. Their music is new and refreshing. The Ed act got old when I first heard the overly ... opening lines to The River. "la ala la la dada da dadaaaaaa!"

The TGF fan base will grow very fast.

Word is getting out because it's a two fold approach, them and us.
