The Tropical storm is definitely going to wreak havoc on Ed's show tonight in NYC. They are expecting between 2-5 inches of rain and heavy wind. I hope I can make it to the show, but I'm not sure how the flooding will be.

I have tickets for Conn tomorrow.

I'm going to the show tonight. Anyone know when Ed goes on? Not interested in the other groups and with the rain don't want to get soaked before getting to the Bowery.

I would say between 10 and 10:30. He came on almost exactly 10:30 in Philly a couple of weeks ago.

Awesome show, same setlist as Philly with two additions: Overcome(Fullband) and the Beauty of Grey. Nice sized crowd and good atmosphere, save for a few drunkards. Off to bed early day tomorrow.

I just made it there. I got lost and as I was trying to get to the floor, Ed and the band stopped right in front of me. Another couple and I said hello to Ed but he was in a zone. At first it looked as if he was angry at something. Any way I enjoyed it. I love the man's voice. I thought the band was great and tackled the Live material more than adequately. I enjoyed the live versions of the material off Alive. I always loved the spirituality of Live's music.

I hope to see TGF so I can give both a fair assesment.

What did you think of the fullband overcome? I thought it really added power to the song and was happy to see it on the setlist.

I've seen that Ed a few times. I think many of us have.

I'm glad you liked the show.

I am really looking forward to the acoustic Open Wings, Broken Strings show in a few weeks. I really love seeing Ed do his thing acoustically.

I was happy to hear that and I didn't think I'd hear Beauty of Grey. I thought that for some Overcome wasn't anything significant.

It was weird for me to see him like that and then go onstage and change. No biggie.
I saw Ed twice acoustic by himself first in Hoboken and then at City Winery the first time.I'd continue to see him play.

Have you been to any Open Wings Broken Strings shows? I went to one last year in Morristown and it was really one of the best concerts I've ever been to. Of course, having 2nd row seats didn't hurt either smile.gif I was really impressed with Art and Leigh also and I wasn't fans of there's going into it. I really love the pure sound of songs being played acoustically.

No I haven't been. My favorite guitars are the ovations, I love the sound that comes out of them. Two of my favorites use them, Richie Sambora and Melissa Etheridge.

I saw one of Ed's first acoustic shows before the "hiatus". I was blown away by it. I have front row seats, center stage for an upcoming Open Wings, Broken Strings show. I think that I might also get some nice photos too. smile.gif Should be cool.

What should I do to prepare for the music from the other two performers? I am not really familiar with their work.

First row...that's awesome! I'm sure you will have a great time! I wish I had brought my camera.

If I remember correctly, Leigh played a couple of her hits with Sixpence (Kiss Me, There She Goes) but she mostly stuck with her solo material that I never heard before. She really has a great voice and opened the concert by singing a song acapella. As for Art, he played mostly his radio hits with Everclear (Wonderful, Santa Monica, I Will Buy You a New Life, etc) and a little of their cd which I think was just about to be released at the time. Probably listen to Everclear's greatest hits if you want to get familiar with their material.

I know in later shows they all played together to end the concert, but that didn't happen in Morristown.
