Snyopsis: I can’t get over this record. Most anticipated record for me since perhaps Secret Samadhi record. I am totally blown away with the 1000% effort on this piece of lexan plastic. These guys really did hone their craft and rediscovered their form…I’ll say even better…..it might be better than some of the legendary Live works. It’s certainly not Live or CB, but it’s certainly a testament to getting back to your roots and center and making something from your soul and organically grown. I say it’s an instant classic, but hey I am only a fan of real rock music. Regardless of the outcome of this record, I think the music stands on its own and will be judged for what it stands for. A+++++

This sums it up perfectly for me. I agree 100% with this statement! rockin.gif rockin.gif

Good review. I don't agree with your ratings on many songs, but well spoken nonetheless. I found there to be a few very weak points on this albums that weren't deserving of a very high mark at all.

I LOVE THIS CD. That is all. Well not really, but I just can't even begin to describe how great this album makes me feel. After getting so excited on the last 3 Live albums, only to be kicked in the balls with how pathetic they were, this one really hits home. My band isn't back, my band has evolved, cut dead weight, brought in some amazing talent, and become a bigger, stronger, and more talented band. What a joy it is to have witnessed this from the ground up.

I purposely avoided the boards while I have my secret love affair with the album. I'm so bloody excited about it, it's hard to contain myself. I still need time before I know fully how I feel about each song, as it's one of those "relationship" albums, ya know? I want more time to fully absorb it before I put into words what the songs means to me.

I do know this is the Album of the Year, as far as I'm concerned.

I admit there was part of me that cracked open the cd thinking, "Please, God, let it be a good'un". I told myself I was not going to give false praise. That concern went straight down the toilet when I was only half-way through it. It's astonishing. As my d.j. friend (who is playing it on his online radio station) said, "There isn't a song on here that doesn't kick my ass".

Not that yall were holding your breath for my thoughts, but here they are anyway. My 6 favorite songs are "Appetite", "Honest Man", "Crying Time", "Closer" "Tredecim" and "Nothing But Love". I hear shades of Zeppelin and, for crying out loud, I hear a little Mother Love Bone in a couple of places (that's always a good thang thumbsup.gif).

"Guilty Fever" is the one song that just doesn't do it for me.

I agree with OTD's statement about the chorus on "Tredecim" being so powerful. That's one of those songs, along with "Closer", that you just wanna have someone to have awesome sex with while those songs are on repeat. Or at least I do. banana.gif yay.gif

Guilty Fever has been really polarizing. People either seem to love it or hate it. I dig the nod to seventies glam and the "shake it baby" outro. But, it definitely took a day or two to grow on me even though the first time I heard it it still caught my ear. Now it's a stand out track for sure.

Yeah it is polarizing and I'm pretty surprised honestly. I love the track, have since I heard the little clip in the teasers, and the ending is phenomenal. In my top 3 for sure.

I just listened to the Appetite track for the Rock Band. I assume this will be the single version cut down for radio as well. I like it but they cut out the "we all need somebody" part. I liked that. It sounded awesome though! I think it will be a decent single for radio. If it gets some promotion that is!
