This is for every ticket purchased at the Paradise Rock Club Box Office only! For those of you that have already purchased your tickets at full price you will receive a free Gracious Few t-shirt as our way of saying thanks for your support! (proof of purchase required) Spread the word and see you in BOSTON!

While this is a great deal for those who haven't bought tickets yet or those that have tix and want a shirt. I am a little concerned that this is a sign that the show/tour isn't selling well. I hope I am wrong and the band is just being cool.

I think it probably means they're just trying to sell out the place. Which is a good thing.

You've gotta remember, this is a new band trying to spread the word. I think this is a good way of doing it.

I was thinking the same thing - sales probably weren't to hot. I will say it's a cool idea. I'd be happy with the free shit.

I think here some people have some unrealistic expectations of how this was going to start out. If it happens it's going to take them a while. Keep in mind this album just came out. Many radio stations probably haven't even caught wind of it yet.

I will say though when I was following the beginnings of The Crooked Vultures about a year ago I do feel like they were getting a lot more press (before and after the record was released) and larger crowds than TGF. I think though, with Grohl, they had a lot more mainstream access, attention, and a larger current fanbase to poll from because of FF and the Zepplin factor.

I think what TGF really has to overcome is the personal connection factor. The fact that both bands (Live and Candlebox) are a long time from mainstream success is a hurdle. If Live was just coming off TDTH with this then obviously they would have had more press. That was over a decade ago. They've lost a ton of steam since then.

Here its a big deal because we love these guys, but I've found if you tell people who are really indifferent or have lost touch with the to the bands about TGF I basically get a "huh, OK" or "alright, whatever" type of response.

Just give it some time. There still the majority that doesnt know who the hell TGF is.

In today's digital age they are going to need a song to break through as a single and get serious air play if they want people to know who the hell they are.

Obviously, starting out small is a given for almost any new band (supergroup or not) but it's nearly impossible to build up a legitimate fanbase without airplay today unless your a small local band that establishes a loyal local fanbase over a period of years and goes from there.

I think if the album gets out there it will definately find an audience. The tought part is going to be finding the influential people at stations who will go out of their way to put it out there and run with a new band that has retread members.

I think eventually something will work out big and I really hoping they find that break!

Hoody I agree on a lot of your points, but I don't think it all rests on radio airplay. Radio isn't nearly as important as it was even 5 years ago. Getting the band noticed takes a combined effort on all fronts, and getting features on the internet is just as central.

Most of the people actually looking for solid, interesting music (which TGF is) don't listen to the radio at all these days. They have to reach those people online.

IMO, not enough has been done to reach out to the Candlebox fanbase.

I think that the digital age made TGF do what they did - online promotion mostly. Get hooked on FB, involve a friend etc etc. It is maybe the music that is not so up-to-date and is hard to promote nowadays. Anyway, 15000 FB fans, out of which at least a half relevant... a very nice thing

I think TGF had posters outside the venue in Toronto for $10 admission as well. No free T-shirt for us though. Judging from the turnout in TO, it's probably just to get bodies through the door.

I think it's a great idea -- the live TGF show really kicks ass. The more people that see it the better.

Yeah, the first few shows had a low turnout, so I like this move. They're basically starting from the ground up, so this is to be expected. Fortunately, it's obvious they have money to finance the tour without having to worry about sales, but getting people to see them is key for their future.

I'm in agreement with this. I earlier said there would be huge turnout but that's my hope within a few months into the tour and record. The slow burn is the proper approach.

I realize I came on strong saying they'd draw quickly, but I do understand what they're trying to do. Build it up, build a brand, become known.
