If TGF had outsold or charted higher than Alive, the gloating on this board would have been unbearable. The fact that Alive beat it on every chart, and that TGF's reviews by media were mixed at best, has left TGF fans with little to gloat about.

The fact that it is a fantastic album with a lot of great songs would be all that anyone would need to gloat.

I played the album for some people at a tailgate party last week and it got a thumbs up from everyone.

Why wouldn't it? Play Alive for a bunch of men and they would turn into women.

Hoodie, do you really think you're carrying on a debate with a rational person, and that you'll get a meaningful response? Ignore him and he will go away.

I actually don't even want a reply from him - I'm simply speaking my mind.

And that's cool, that is all I've been doing on the board.

This is a great accomplishment and even more impressive amidst the TGF vs Ed debate. It's quite obvious that Ed's charting overseas is directly related to Live's recent popularity and even his charting in the U.S. is probably mostly related to what's left of Live's popularity. He has firmly hitched his wagon to Live. I haven't seen or heard one thing that distinguishes him beyond Live. He appears to be heading down the same path, but now he's on his own. I don't see him reaching anything new, and if anything, he will lose the majority of those hopeful Live fans that realize this is not Live. I don't see any change in his downward trend, unless something hits big enough to distinguish him beyond the Live that everyone grew to love. He'd have to score one seriously major hit to make people forget Throwing Copper as Live's (and Ed's) signature sound.

Meanwhile, TGF has given their backstory but that's all it is. Everything about them is new. Sure, their past had to have some influence in their initial reception but it is hardly what drives them. They have firmly established themselves as a new entity and when measured against what is expected from new bands they are off to a great start. They will have to take this start and continue to grow it but I don't see that as being anywhere near the challenge that Ed has. Their tour is just starting and they will be reaching many people as they cross the country. They appear to be getting good coverage in the towns they are visiting in the early stages of their tour and I can see their momentum continuing to grow. I think they are well on their way and I can already see (hear) the 2nd album coming together soon.

I don't care what your intentions are, you surely must realize that by directly asking him a question you are inviting a reply. And it's already happened before I could chastise you for your ignorant behavior. If you don't want a reply from him, don't invite a reply by directly asking him a question, retard.

Completely agree. Ed is the same as LIVE was 2 years ago and his album will be one and done with the most attention going to its initial release. TGF will only continue to get more popular as they are better discovered on their tour.

This is absolute truth.

People will get excited just after his releases, just like it was with Live, and then realize just how subpar his music really is. It happens time and time again evident in the releases following TDTH.

TGF will gain momentum with the general public because their music is refreshing and a sound we didn't hear from Live for many, many years.

Actually, Ed hasn't outsold TGF in the US period. Do we really wanna take a look at what Ed's numbers are in the US this week? The album is completely rubbish and it is dead.

People who put so much stake in sales and such are completely lacking in intelligence anyways. Last I looked, some album by Taio Cruz with that garbage song dynamite was selling top notch everywhere. Yet the music is completely garbage. Same goes for a lot of huge selling albums of the past from garbage artists like Britney Spears, The Backstreet Boys and many many many others.

Most retards like the idiot trolling this thread wouldn't know good music if it came up and fucked his cock eyed wife in the ass.

Truth is, Ned supports a thief who has him manipulated like a priest does a choir boy. I think it's kinda funny watching a supposed "man" do this type of thing. He's nothing more than a wee groupie fanboy who is sacrificing every ounce of his integrity to support a hypocrit who steals from his friends.

Then turn and bad mouth the other three guys in the band who he supposedly loved for years and years. All because he wants Ed to bend both him and his wife over one night. Good for you Ned, hope Ed does teabag you one day for your own gratifcation of truly having your nose firmly nestled in his ass crack.

I am free to speak my mind as I please. No offense but chastise away. You are not my mother - I don't have to follow your rules.

On the topic - Very cool that TGF has found some immediate success!

Do you expect him to go away or not? Do you want a reply from him or not? Get your behavior aligned with your intentions.
